Create thickness in mid section (Abs and Obliques) after fat loss

Looking for some recommendations/guidance. I dropped a significant amount of weight. I went from 260 to 195. With all the fat loss, I have also gained some muscle during that time. I have some nice big biceps, and my chest is growing. Quads are exploding. These areas will be fine, as far as...

Thumbs up Why are Gymnasts so perfect?

Greetings to my fellow Spartans. I met a chap so perfect he looked like he was on PED's or modeled. He was shy of 6feet, 5'10ishh or somewhere there. So jealous me asked him for a few tips on how to look as perfect as him in a cost effective way and he told me he's a gymnast and doesn't use...

Reverse leg press question

I do reverse glute kickbacks on the leg press machine to target hamstrings. THe exercise involves facing backwards in the leg press (the large leg press machine thats on the floor, not the smaller version one) with one leg positioned on the plate and one leg against the back pad (with foot touching...

Question Thoughts on wrist curls?

I have bitch twig forearms that I'd like to add some mass to. Are dumbell wrist curls an effective and safe accessory exercise for forearm muscle growth? I've heard some people say they can lead to nerve damage. Anyone achieve quality results with them?

Muscle soreness

Just curious, will you be less sore consuming 60 grams of protein oppose to consuming 20-30 grams after a workout?

Hurt knee from doing upper body

I can’t find anyone else online who’s experienced this... When I train my legs they feel fine, BUT when I do upper body exercises like tricep rope pull downs or a bicep machine, it kills my knees from the force that pushes down on my legs. My knees hurt during the workout and are sore for a...

Too fat for pullups , any point to try on a long diet ?

I made a thread on this in the last 2-3 weeks but the search thing is useless or I'm using it wrong, and I can't find it. I'm too fat / weak to do pullups, I could do 3x5 or so a few years ago. I'm 188lbs and ~29% BF, and on diet. Is there any real point trying to do them, or 'walk the plank'...

Are there multiple variations of face pulls?

I'm not talking about stance because I guess there's a few different stances you can take. I'm talking about the ROM, the height at which you pull from. I've watched a few youtube videos on face pulls, and each seems to do it differently. So are there different variations? Do certain variations...

Are Kettlebell Swings safe exercise for Low Back?

I'm trying to strengthen my lower back, and am considering kettlebell swings. I have bulging discs on the left side of my L4 and L5, but have since recovered from my injuries from over a year ago. I experience no pain at all, and feel the time is right to start to strengthen my neglected lower...

Exercising on calorie deficit

Now hear me out before saying that working out on deficit is pointless and won't give you any gains. I was wondering what would happen if let's say; you spent all consumed energy and now you are using stored energy. At this state you would lift weights, do some cardio (so you are going to use...

Squats, lunges, and excessive lumbar extension

I’ve been recording myself performing squats and found that I tend to pull my hips back way too much, resulting in an awkward looking squat with my butt too far out and too much of a forward lean. I was taught “chest out, butt out” from day one to get myself into neutral, but I wonder if somewhere...

Lat pulldowns vs reverse seated lat pulldowns

Hi I do Fierce Five routine and the last time I was doing lat pulldowns, some guy approached me and advised doing reverse seated lat pulldowns (pulling the bar to the chest and not to the back, just to make clear). He claimed it was the easier way, more comfortable, but still engaging the same...

GTFIH if you have trouble feeling your lats

Some things you can apply to any horizontal or vertical pull. So many people (me included for years ) don't do a very good job actually engaging their lats, and end up using lots of rear delts and upper back. If that's the goal, great, but here's some tips to help you feel your lats a little...

After getting my squat around the 270-280 mark I started noticing pain in my hips I figured it was doms and because I was squatting more. Exercises for glute hypertrophy?

Hi all. I split my leg days. I do quads on one day, and hamstrings/glutes on another. On quad day I do Heavy Leg Presses, lighter weight 1 1/2 squats, and leg extensions. (Heavy weight squats 300lb + kill my knees, I don’t know why, but leg presses cause NO pain). On glute/hamstring day I...
