How much strength loss is to be expected for my squat?

In my county, only open air gyms are allowed. The ones available are at least 20 min from my house and I can realistically only go there twice a week, maybe 3 x if I’m lucky. From what I’ve seen, there’s only one flat bench and one squat rack with a chit ton of ppl working out. For the sake of...

Beginning split-body maintenance program for limited health, mobility and equipment

Okay, so right off the bat, this will be a tiny bit of a read... I'm just trying to come up with a good split-body workout with dumbbells and body weight at home. I know it's a pretty far cry from a mass-gaining workout, but that's not really what I'm looking for, at least not at the moment. ...

Why does lower back hurt after hard physical work?

Hi, I have 3 questions... Im talking about the lower back pain after hard physical work (where a lot of lifting is involved). 1. What causes lower back pain? 2. Does hard physical work strengthens your back (or does it have an opposite affect and damages your back)? 3. How do you prevent lower...

Unhappy Can't overhead press and probably soon bench press - need guidance please

I'm wanting to know if doing bench presses or pushups will suffice for my main pushing exercise. I basically have floating bone spurs in my elbows and any overhead or tricep work sets me back weeks , so it's only horizontal pushing exercises that don't hurt, so until covid is over I can't get it...

Dumbbell Bench Press Warm Up Question

I bought a pair of 25 lb rubber dumbbells and a different brand of 50 lb iron dumbbells several months ago and just yesterday found 75 lb a different brand again. I guess it doesn't matter the brand when ramping up but I have this question and maybe someone can help: I have been using the 25...

Form Check: Barbell Row

I did two rows, one regular and one sumo as my legs seemed to be getting the way of the regular one. It would appear that given my height, sumo is the way to go. What do you all think? I would appreciate any feedback. Regular Sumo

I don't like how I look. Is being flat chested genetic or is it muscle?

To be honest not even sure if the term flat chested is correct for what I am trying to describe. I just notice that when I look at myself in the mirror, my ribcage looks like it is flat or better said like my spine is a little concave. By that I mean, unless I make a effort to fill my lungs,...

Post Form advice on my bodyweight workouts?

I was hoping someone out there may be able to give me tips and ideas for my bodyweight workouts. I'm doing a lot of calisthenics style moves these days and I'm trying to progress towards planche. I want to show my video but I'm new here and I can put in links. So far I'm doing Planche slide...

Question Can I build muscle only using cable machine

I workout at home and I'm trying to bulk. I only have a full body cable machine, its called a bodicraft xpress pro which is what I workout on. I feel like since I don't do any compound movements I won't be able to build enough muscle. Any thoughts or comments to help me out.

Is it possible to have genetically elite leg strength?

I’m 18 years old at 160lbs, I’ve been training for about 2 years now and I’ve always skipped legs until recently. I’ve had about 2 weeks since I incorporated legs into my workout routine, just 3 workouts in I used a sled leg press and did 640 for 10 solid reps. I’ve looked at the statistics and it...

Exercises to strengthen hip flexors?

Over the summer I noticed some right hip flexor soreness when I went on some longer-than-usual hikes. By the next day, it was gone and I dismissed it as getting older and not being used to the activity. However, a couple weeks ago I tried a new ab workout followed by legs the next day, and I've...

Just had an epiphany!

I'm changing the 12 volt battery in my truck. It has a handle on top and weighs about 60 pounds. Since people are having a hard time getting to gyms with this pandemic, it would make a perfect kettlebell for a home workout.
