Relation between biceps size and how mcuh you can curl

I thought it would be interesting to ask this question. I know there are a couple of Y factors that affect X. Like genetics, muscle fibers, how long you have been trained and so on. However I'm curious how big your biceps are and how much you can curl. Me: 80 kg/ 176 lbs Biceps size: 38,6...

How to keep you knees from collapsing in on squats?

I've been working on squats a lot the past few weeks (made a thread about it and have been working on suggestions). I have been able to greatly improve form, and get down to parallel, but the issue I am having is my knees (most of the time its my right knee) will buckle inwards on the first half of...

Pain/discomfort/strain between shoulder blades

Hey, guys. I have once hurt my upper back doing single-arm dumbbell bicep curls with 1 dumbbell at a time. By the time it got to 22.5kg on the dumbbell, I do guess my torso was bending somewhat sideways to balance me against the unbalanced load pulling down only at one shoulder of the 2. At...

Outer, front elbow issue

Hey, guys. I'm sure everybody here knows the science of bodybuilding, and I really hope you can help me. I've been to a biokineticist and have been searching information on the internet for many months, but still can't resolve a problem. It is what I evaluated to be Tennis Elbow, but I'm...

arm isolation?

Unlikely most men who lift, I never spent time doing endless curls and whatnot. Now I want to focus on my arms, mostly from an aesthetic perspective. I thought a mix of dips, bench, chins, pullups and barbell curls would be enough. Dips alone seem to work all of my triceps nicely. I am not...

Romanian DeadLifts for not the most flexible people

After a long break, I got back into exercising and doing the Fierce 5 program that people here suggested I take. After having suffered an accident during my military days (Helicopter crash as pax), I was left with severe lumbar/spine/lower back problems, so seing things like RDLs on the training...

Heavy deadlifts, worth it in the long run?

I got my deadlifts up to 500 lbs 4x4. Physically i feel good but i am starting to wonder if it is worth pushing for 600+, seems like even with good form eventually something will have to give. I don't compete, i just like the high of setting pr's and my back developement.

Need some stretching/mobility exercises for larger people

Hello everyone, Would anyone of you have any recommendations for easy exercises or stretching when it comes to improving mobility? I'm a very fat guy that needs to lose a lot of weight and I have gotten the diet (I find the Keto Diet to be very easy) part figured out. I've decided that I...

Bench giving my shoulders hell

So, I've watched so many YouTube videos. Alan Thrall, Buff Dudes etc being the best. All of which recommend arched back, shoulder bladrs tight together and down, legs firmly on floor. Grip over elbow, come down horizontally to chest, dont flare etc. When I unrack I seem to have problems. I...

Unhappy Squat/Rdl back pain - formcheck please

Hey guys, Watched a lot of vids and been resetting weight on these quite a few times to focus on form but feel like I've hit a wall now on how much more I can improve these by myself. I feel some lower back pain when performing these lifts in the tailbone area or just above it. Experimented a...

Does the bench prefer lower reps moreso than other lifts?

Started a cycle with 15 rep sets (for the upper lifts, I'm not a sadist) and they're progressing proportionally similarly, except bench which is progressing at half the rate compared to when I was doing 10-12 reps. I am not a bench specialist and also remember Dr. Mike Ish saying the bench...

Deadlift advice

Looking for advice on my deadlift progression. Today I failed my max test, couldn't get it past my knees. Want to try again before I call it total failure, but I also want to make sure I recover enough for the next deadlift day. How long should I wait before I try my max again? Thanks a lot. ...

Post New Exercise??

Is there a way to request a new Exercise be added. I track my workouts and it seems that there's a few that I've learned that don't appear in the database in any form. The exercise I'd like to add is toe taps/box taps.

Power Cleans and Elbow Pain

I'm doing SS. One modification is that I'm working out every other day, rather than taking weekends off. Since this thread is about a different question, I'll explain the reason for the modification at the end. Question: Wednesday was my first Workout B - so it was my first time doing Power...

Cool Noob Question: Am I really burning muscle?

Hi everyone. I'm doing chest day at home and today I was able to do 110lb divided by 2 Dumbbells for a total of 100 Reps / sets of 10 in about an hour. 30 of those reps were done inclined. Last week I was only able to do 110lb for only 20 reps. In one week i was able to multiply my...

Box squat depth

Hey Folks, I'm looking to build a squat box with 3 sizes. This is a 10" tall milk crate. 10" is normally a below parallel for most... But I have short legs, and this looks like parallel for me. http://imgur.com/a/Rb86K61 What do you guys think?

Is hypertrophy systemic?

My question is about a T-Nation article entitled "7 Reasons You're Still Weak or Fat" (can't post the URL as I'm too new on this forum...). It explains that steroids aside, "hypertrophy is not a localized process. It's systemic". And: "To put it another way, doing heavy trap-bar deadlifts will do...

Exclamation Vertical forearms on Bench press - BAD advice?

Maybe not bad, but not for everyone?! I've always tried to do this at bottom position, but the only way I can do this and not fk my shoulders is by doing a very narrow grip just outside shoulder width, I have a bit of long arms so it ends up being a very tricep leading press. Needless to say...

How to HOLD the bar for Bench Press?!

Yes, I've seen all about the pitbull grip There are many bench press set up videos but very few talk about how to actually hold the bar, in my experience bulldog grip is solid sitting low on the palm but "squeezing" with just the finger tips doesn't feel right, like strength transfer...
