Not Feeling any Exercises in Chest

I have been working out for 2 months now, and have seen good growth overall, everywhere except my chest. I never feel my chest working when I do dumbbell bench press, incline dumbbell bench press, nor dumbbell flies, all of which target the chest. I rather feel most of the work in my biceps (and...

What's the best free weight workout for a wider upper back / wider lats?

I want wider lats to get that "cobra" look. I only have dumbbells and barbell with weights. I do barbell rows but from what I've read, they're mostly good for a thicker back.

Regarding half squats

So ever since I was 10(I'll be 31 next month), and weight lifting I have always been trained and taught to do a full Rom squat. And through my years studying up even more I have found even more needing to do as full a squat as one can and get to a full rom. Outside of a few select benefits for very...

5x5 While trying to lose weight

Hi all, I'm in a bit of a predicament right now. I'm 30 6'0 and 404 lbs, down from 445. I do the 5x5 routine because I like its simplicity and seeing the numbers rise every time, and also because I have a power rack and barbell set in my home. I've come to a point in which my lifts are getting...

Leg day with possible bulging disc.

I am under the impression I may have a bulging disc in my low back/ tailbone area and am wondering what would be the best things to do for a leg day not being able to squat and deadlift due to the pressure put on my spine from the weight. Thanks in advance everyone!

Question No core strength post-umbilical hernia surgery

Hey guys. I'm not seeking medical advice, just opinions. I've been lifting for about 10-years. About 8-months ago I had surgery for an umbilical hernia. I took lots of time off to ensure a full recovery. Since then all my weights have gone back up to where I was except for my squat and deadlift...

Talking Best way to know that you are bulking?

I have been bulking for around 4 months now, in the 4 months I have increased my barbell curl by 5 pounds, wide grip late pulldown by 5 pounds and have increased my hamstring curl by 10 pounds. For all my other excersses I have increased by either 5 or 10 pounds. Is this a good way to tell that I...

Question Is it true that HIIT helps more with preventing shortness of breath?

Despite me doing 10 mins of cardio everyday, simple tasks such as climbing the stairs or even just getting up from a chair can suddenly make my heart rate skyrocket. I read that it has to do with the fact that its a sudden motion that your body requires oxygen in so little time, and that running...

I heard deadlifts build lats but do rackpulls build lats too? all pin heights? I do all heights for progressive range of motion. I also do about 12 sets of pull ups a week in a split of 3 days. i would say i do about 9-10 sets of rack pulls a week too.. do you think this would hinder my recovery...

How Do You Know When You Are Getting Close To Max

What's up guys? I'm new to this website but I figured I'd check it out and seek some help. I've been lifting for about 11 months now and I've never done a max lift before (didn't think I needed to). Today I was deadlifting 245 lbs and it was do-able, but I definitely had to struggle a little to...

Rapid strength decrease

I stopped going to the gym for about a week, and ate bad foods/ not enough. Pull ups went down to 11, was at 16. Push ups were at 20! when I had 63. But if I start training again I will get those numbers back easily. But why so rapid if I stop? Muscle still looks the same maybe a little smaller.

Bench Press Problems

Hey all I have recurring problems with my left shoulder. It’s always the same. I saw a sports therapist about it a few weeks ago and his first question upon digging his fingers around in my joint was “when did you dislocate it?” Funny thing is... I don’t think I ever have done!! I may...

Tips for preventing bar slippage on front squats

I can’t use an Olympic grip on front squats because it hurts my wrist. The pain is livable but I’ve historically had wrist pains so I don’t want to aggravate it more. So I’ve been using the cross grip. It’s extremely difficult for me to keep my elbows as high up as possible. At the top, my elbow...
