Sticky Thread Sticky: *************Subject of TRT - Clarity of the rules*************

I wanted to take a minute to clear something up that I have no doubt some of you will complain about. In the past, because TRT has been such a hot news topic in MMA, I've let things slid as long as people didn't discuss specifics of use. Honestly, I was out of line with this and pretty much...

Sticky Thread Sticky: So you're going to your first MMA/BJJ/MT class -

Since there seems to be one of these types of questions pretty regularly I figured it might be nice to (hopefully) have a sticky with some first timers suggestions. So, if you have a suggestion or tip for anyone who is considering or going to be training for the first time, or looking for a good...

Sticky Thread Sticky: MMA conditioning video instructional thread

I've been known to critique many videos posted here of athletes training. I've also been called out here and on other web forums. I figured I would make a thread with videos demonstrating proper technique for various exercises that can be used for conditioning in MMA. Here is a real quick and...

Sticky Thread Sticky: Am I too old to be a fighter (PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU POST THIS QUESTION).

Over the years, there has been a LOT of post asking the very question...."am I too old to be a fighter (or start training)?" First off, when you ask this question, you're going to have people throw out the name Randy Couture. Who, unless you're completely new to the sport of MMA is KNOWN to be...

Battle At The Beach

I noticed a lot of people on this newly developed forum (thanks again mods/admin) say that they compete in grappling tournaments. Are any of you going to Wildwood, NJ on Aug 5-6 for the Battle At The Beach? If you are, what weight class and belt are you competing in?

Any Pancrase fans in the house?

I've only seen a little bit of this, notably Shamrock vs Hume and some of Funaki's stuff, and I love it. A couple of my friends in England are going to send me several dvd's of Pancrase and I'm really anxious to see more of it. A little MMA dvd trading if you will.

Talk about where you train (and price)

I've wanted to start training for a while but I'm a little hesitant for a few reasons. Top reason is it will cut hard into my lifting schedule and 2nd reason is price, I talked to 2 gyms and they were both $100 a month CDN or $1000/year for the one of them (I dont have 1000 bucks sitting around...

Injured my friends ankle, what exactly happened?

I had him in a heel hook, he refused to tap so I cranked it and everyone heard a loud pop and I immediatly let go. His ankle swelled up but he said he wasn't in too much pain and was able to limp around. What was the pop? I was thinking maybe a ligament.

Question Hbo & Ufc?

What do you think about this marriage? I hear it is in the making, but HBO is still trying to figure out MMA. I think it is a winner for HBO. Especially since boxing has lost most of us.

Had my first grappling/jiu jitsu session today.

It was awesome! My knees are red roar, I got a very soar bruise on the underside of my bicep, I got a headache, but man was it exhilarating, 2 hours of pure ground work, ground and pound, submissions, half guard, side control, we even used MMA gloves!! Bit expensive for the training sessions...

Ken Shamrock Discussion

I personally don't know much about MMA. I haven't been in to MMA for that long so won't know much. But I'm wondering what has he done since he has came. seems like to me he gets his ass kicked and loses every match IDK if its true, but I'm assuming. The only thing I know what Shamrock had done for...
