An Aristotelian's pursuit of Eudaimonia

Hello O35ers, I joined this bodybuilding forum a while back and have reached a stage where I need to start holding myself to a higher level of accountability. This thread will be updated 1x a week and I should have, at least, 4 lifting sessions and (eventually) some cardio, once I move and have...

3/2/1 Deadlift Log

My record keeping sucks and wanted to have an easy access place to keep track of my deadlift log. So basically just updating this once a week. 3/2/1 is a modified Wendler 5/3/1 that Mike Robertson came up with. So instead of week 1 being 65% x 5, 75% x 5 and 85% x 5, it would be 65% x 3, 75%x3 and...

ElrondHubbard Clawing My Way Back

I've finally decided to start a journal here, mostly because I think now I have a journey worth tracking, and maybe a program that can get me at least most of the way there. And, because the rest of you guys inspire me. My last logged workout was November 19 of last year, a week after my...

Smile TM's Training Journal/Torture Log

Howdy Folks, I've been on this forum for a few months now over in the Power Lifting Forum and finally realized today, after some looking around, that I am in fact, "old". That is why I am relocating my journal over to this area. To be honest, powerlifting/strongman was probably not the best...

PtReyesGreg's Workout Journal

Well I'm finally taking the plunge and starting an online workout journal here. I originally posted this in the "regular" journal area but realized I really should put it here in the Over 35 area, so I deleted that one and am creating a new journal here. I am 40 years old 6'1" tall and 228 lbs. I...

50 to Physique competition???

So here I sit. Literally just turned 50 and contemplating trying to get stage ready for a physique competition. Sounds like lunacy especially now I'm actually writing down the words. I'm in reasonable ok shape for an average guy. I know I'm nowhere near big enough just for starters. Don't even...

AJ's Big Arms => Big Paychecks journal

I figured I would start a journal since I kicked off a fresh new 12 week lifting cycle yesterday. Not really sure what my goals are, just maintaining current mass and getting stronger. Maybe drop some BF. Keep in mind, I am also a home gym guy with dumbbells that only go up to 60 pounds (in case...

Starting a new me

I'm almost 54. After years of attempts to be cool or look good or fit in with the crowd I found some transformation videos on youtube and got hooked. Now starting to get about transformation more methodically. In my youth I did some rowing. I quite liked it. The trainer dumped me after a...

Knee Surgery Recovery (and beyond)

On Tuesday I'm getting a bone spur cut out of my knee which will hopefully help with the nagging knee pain I've been having for years and the really bad PTF I've had manifest in the last couple of months. I'll post what I can do as a way of trying to stay motivated during yet another recovery...

Hi. Just joined. I'm from the UK, currently age 54 and have been training 30+ years. Done mainly bodybuilding but dabbled in strength routines in the past. These days I stick largely to lighter weights but still push myself as far as possible on the reps side of things. My strong areas are my...
