Stronglifts 5x5 on different schedule

I would like to try SL or a similar program but my work schedule makes it impossible to follow it perfectly. I work 2-3 16-18 hour days then I'm off for 3-4 days, usually 2 on 4 off. Will this affect my progress or could I alter the schedule a little and it will still work?
