Senior EMTs looking for some advice

I’ve been an EMT for 7 months, doing 911 since I got hired. I work for a private EMS company and feel like I should be able to handle calls better. Today for instance we had a asthma patient SOB. Lung sounds were wheezing and fire had her on a non rebreather 15LPM. She was prescribed albuterol but...

Software brahs, should I learn php?

I've heard a lot of bad stuff about php, but I am also aware that it's the most common back-end language. Is learning php worth it, if only for the sake of getting a job easily? I don't have experience in any back end language as of now

Federal Reserve reduces cash reserve ratio to 0%

How will this work? Will this allow Banks to expand the monetary supply infinitely? i.e. a bank with a 10% reserve rate - Bob deposits $100 into a bank, the bank lends $90 out - the $90 eventually makes its way back to the bank....

Why do people argue for not paying down debt as fast as possible?

I hear alot of people say instead of paying down the principle on their home they should get a 32 year mortgage and use their income towards investing in the stock market or othe real estate ? Is this really the best strategy? Seems to me like that 8% average annual return isnt worth the risk of...

Automated software for trading

What software are you guys using? I'm tired of scripting chit for robinhood just to have their api chit out whatever. Is there a gui out there that can be configured to have access to DJI and the like? I've taken a look at metatrader, no luck. Ninjatrader looks like it's just for futures. ...

Top REITS to invest in...

I am looking at investing into various funds, and want to get into the REITS. I am new to this sector entirely, and want some input. I came across Macerich Co (MAC on the NYSE) is trading at $6.18 with a 32.36% dividend paid annually. This is looking very enticing to me...

I'm thinking about refinancing my house to invest in stock market

I owe 40K on it and it's worth 310K. I'm thinking about taking out 200K to put it all in stock market When I look at history of stock market, every time it has had a huge dip like this - it came back with a furious vengeance within 3-4 years. I'm guessing I can put 200K on it and it would be...

Is pursuing a career path even worth it?

For most of my life I have been working jobs because I haven't been sure on what career path to take. Now im starting to take a pretty big interest in finance, and a finance career seems appealing on the surface, but im starting to think it might just be a huge risk and financial burden. For a...

Corona virus is crashing the stock market

Looks like it’s going for a dive today . This won’t end well. For some reason the Dow Jones and the GSPTSE won’t even show their losses anymore today on the graph? Has the government closed the market because of panic?

How do you guys see the future of Airline business?

Now here especially between 2006-2018 it peaked. As long as you could finance the pilot training your chances of getting hired was around 90%. And an average entry level first officer made like 12 times min wage, a captain double that. Now every guy with a dad who makes above average is getting a...

Question for internet/tech people

I'm paying about $100/month for cable and 30 Mbps internet service at each of my 23 rental properties. That's $2300 a month. My occupancy is going to plummet until this crisis is over. These properties are fully furnished with all bills paid, I rent them to refinery contractors with a per diem. ...

Hot take: this is a correction that was needed for a while

Coming from an investor's point of view the economy had been soaring so high that it was bound to fall at some point going at the insanely fast pace it was. Whatever goes up can come right back down and fall twice as hard. I don't think the fed will let the virus pandemic get too bad, this is...

it's alarming that national debt is @ ath levels in this economy

Preface: I understand that carrying a large national debt is not in and of itself a negative. If there's one thing every POTUS fails to address it's the trajectory of our national debt (Clinton did a good job, however). I'm not saying that it needs to be halved immediately. But it would have...
