AAT accountancy courses

UK only, perhaps? Has anyone done the AAT Level 3 course, and did you find it easy enough? I'm starting it soon mostly just for fun and interest, I haven't done L1/2 and have no background in accounting whatsoever. I was always good at school/uni/studying, though, so I reckon I can handle it. ...

Anyone successfully switched careers?

Hey all, I am an attorney in Vegas and have been practicing for about 4 and a half years but am super unhappy with what I do. I make $120,000+ (which is good for Vegas) depending on bonuses but am just really burned out, stressed and overall unsatisfied with my "career." I dream about doing...

Questions about being a new EMT-B

Got my cert in August, got hired in September for private EMS company, and have been working full time since. They actually tried to pull me off my second day of ride time (we do 7 days of 3rd riding 96 hours total) and put me on a truck by myself with a partner. Had to tell them I don’t feel...

Your 3 fund allocation?

I see such wide variance on percentages of what to hold between domestic, international, and bonds. So I figured, why not ask the misc.

savings account interest rates plummeting

I know it's a product of whatever the **** the feds are doing but man is it a jolt to see those interest rates on savings account go down so quickly. I've been sleeping on investing the money sitting in my savings account anyway so this just creates more a sense of urgency to make some moves.

Where can I learn about investing more? (HSA/401k etc)

Decided today to max out my HSA. I read that I can invest it once I get it up to a certain balance threshold and have the overage scooped off into an investment account. I have two options to do so - devenir and td ameritrade. Where can I learn about how to smartly invest when I define a portfolio?...

How Do You Entrebrahneurs Figure Out If An Idea Is Worth Pursuing?

I've got the entrepreneurial itch that I need to scratch, but not wanting to pour my life-savings into some half-hearted crap that'll make me go broke. Right now, I'm looking into creating an app that will use machine learning to "automate" the personal training process (with premium options to...

fed cuts rate .... but says economy is healthy

I'm not an expert on this but everything that I've heard and read about the FRB's moves seems contradictory. On one hand they undertake moves that are usually enacted when the economy is not doing well but than their comments are all positive about its current state. Even the news analysts were...

Mortgage Refinance Quote

Would anyone mind checking out my refi quote and telling me if I'm missing anything? From what I can see it's a good rate. My current rate is 5% and this would drop about $400 off of my monthly payments with more going to the priciple. The closing cost minus about $800 is rolled into the loan so...

I moved cities and was unemployed. Just got a job offer, can I negotiate benefits?

They're paying me what I'm asking for, which is good. But I only get 13 days off, and I had 16 at my old job. I'm worried that asking for the extra 3 days might rock the boat too much and hurt the offer. So I'm just going to accept since I'm not in a negotiating position. But I'm hoping...
