What would you do in this financial situation?

Not me but let's say.. - you have about ~ 28k credit card debt, spread across 5 credit cards (three have $2,000 each, one with $10,000, two with $5,000 each) - you have been paying these payments for the past 10 years, basically stuck because of high balance/limited income. Life is NOT GOOD...

is this legit?

My cousin in India is trying to get me to register a company name here (in the US) and then get a bank account in that company's name. She says that she needs it as a gateway for transactions. She says that the business is a travel agency...people call in for flight and hotel bookings.

What software do you use to manage your finances?

Quicken? Mint? Personal Capital? I have multiple bank accounts and an investment account and it'd be nice to have a software to manage all of these.

What are your thoughts of foregoing a savings account for less liquid investing?

Thumbs up The ABSOLUTE best advice I have ever known. Feel free to share yours

If you say you are going to do something, then do it. You might not realize it then, or you might not realize it ever, but that will earn you SO MUCH respect. It can be applied to any aspect in life, but in this case I'll stick to our careers. Seems cliche, simple, but it is true. My...

Post-interview steps, manager is deciding. Anything to do, or sit and wait/rot?

I had a recuiter contact me off LinkedIn for a manager position. To be honest, I'm probably a little underqualified, but I decided to meet my would-be manager for an interview. She liked me so I was invited back for a final panel interview last week (Wednesday). It is apparently between myself...

Any benefits to having a LinkedIn profile?

Deleted mine last year after not being active on it for so long. Honestly I did not derive any value from it whatsoever, just too many cringe worthy profiles for me to take. What is a good second part-time Job for a Salaried Full-time Web Developer

I'm a salaried Front-End Web Developer, and for what I do, the pay is good, and the benefits amazing. Work overtime, pay more taxes and actually earn less?

I've had several people tell me both ways, that it doesn't hurt you the more hours you work but others have said after a certain amount of overtime, you are put into some other tax bracket and get taxed more making you actually earn less. Was just told today that work OT 'ONCE' every 2 weeks and...

Do you prepare your own taxes?

I started getting mine prepared. I itemize and have investments and just don't want to worry about it anymore. The opportunity cost of not doing them and spending $100 bucks is worth it I think. They are done in 15-30min and I didn't have to worry about a thing.
