Mopar Thread. Who's in the brotherhood of Muscle?

How many of you car guys are Mopar enthusiasts/owners? If you own one, Let's see it. If you dont, let's see what you'd like to own one day. Discuss anything Mopar related. Currently own a 2019 Challenger Hellcat. A8 and rear seat delete. My dream car though is a 1968 Dodge Charger...

Question Fukkk , truck hesitates to shift randomly from 3rd down to 2nd or from 2nd to 3rd

I have a dodge with a 5.9 magnum and a 46re. The transmission is rebuilt and I’ve driven it a good amount for almost two years and it shifted fine until now. I haven’t put but maybe 10-12k miles on it so I haven’t done a new filter or fluid change yet. Recommendation is 30k per FCA but I was...

What's the highest mileage vehicle you would purchase?

I've been casually looking at Craigslist to find a car to commute in so I can keep miles off my actual nice car. Last night a guy posted a LS400 with 103k miles on it for $3,000. Looks to be garage kept, no rust, but obviously I need to check for oil leaks and odometer rollbacks while I'm there. Ad...

Dash cam suggestions?

Hi guys, looking for dash cam suggestions. - Front and rear camera - If possible, interior camera would be great - Would like the function that the camera records any interference with the vehicle while parked, but I do live on a busy road and vehicle is parked outdoors mostly. - Obviously...

Okay truthfully, how bad is it (driving a manual in heavy traffic)

I'm looking at purchasing a manual for my next car (mainly as a theft deterrent because its gonna be a Honda), but also because repairs are cheaper in the long run, not to mention, for the vast majority of new cars they're all using that CVT nonsense which I don't trust and costs a mint to repair....

How are you car guys handling virus time?

I am seeing meetups happening still, far less than usual but not none. I won't be attending any for the foreseeable future. Cruises actually seem to be increasing in number but I am also avoiding these for the most part. If I attend one I don't get out of my car. Cruising by myself, I have...

Thoughts on the BMW F10 V8s? N63tu etc.

I've been looking at these lately, the F10 550i and do the N63 and N63tu motors hold up as far as reliability and dependability? These things can be found for crazy cheap prices, seen '16s with low mileage for as low as 30k Great looking and performing cars, esp with the TT...

How do you all get away with empty parking lot burnouts/drifting?

I found some empty back roads that lead to a whare house/business office district with big empty parking lots. The weekends and it being late, there's practically zero traffic. My car isn't loud, but I imagine the tire squealing is more than enough to attract any PD that happens to be local. I...

Truck brahs gtfih: tire wear and rub

My truck is a SFA and I’ve got two issues. I can tell the suspension is going out a little , especially the bushings but the main problems are I have tire rub in the front and I have inner toe wear. Now before I put the new tires on the front I got an alignment done which was a year ago and...

Question It's 2020. Do you still go to the dealer for service/oil changes?

How many people still go to the car dealership for service with all the options these days. You do some searches on yelp or google and you can find local shops with good reviews. Or is the dealership a better option? My local mom and pop shop will do a bumper to bumper free inspection just like...

Bought a Genesis G70!

Call it a “Great Value BMW” if you want but this car drives every bit as well as a German sport sedan and the reliability, maintenance and repair costs are similar to their Hyundai and Kia cousins. I got a great deal on a gently used one (1300 miles) and the more I drive it, the more I love it....

Just received my LT5 (Corvette ZR1) crate engine - Ultima RS build

First piece of my Ultima RS puzzle arrived (well second, technically, after the Porsche G97.50 transaxle). I got the ECM/harness and accessories (alternator, A/C compressor, belts, pulleys, etc.) as well (not pictured). 755hp/715tq stock (though said to be around 780 with just headers). I'm...

I'm a huge V8 guy, but I love the E60 M5

Been looking at E60 M5s lately. The prices are very reachable and it looks like it'd make a good project car. I imagine enthusiasts are paying $20,000 for a well sorted example and another $10,000 saved for maintenance?

Best performance SUV?

So, my dads lease is coming up very soon and he's (well, I am, LOL) looking for a new SUV. Right now he drives a Alfa Stelvio, which is well let's just say OK, and that's being nice. I figured it's time to up performance and quality and look at some performance SUVs. There are a few I like;...

Scrap your car vs selling it?

Suppose you have a 20+ year old beater sedan, w/ like 350k miles. Drives well enough, but a long list of little problems and some cosmetic damage. If you were trying to get rid of it because you got a new car, would you scrap it or try to sell it private party? Not sure what I could get for it...
