Sticky Thread Sticky: Official vertical/jumping/dunking thread POST ALL VERT QUESTIONS HERE

Anyone tried this program? They have a sale on goes down to $49 and I was thinking about picking it up. Seems about as legit as any one of these training systems. "Grow Taller Overnight" made me question this guys product though.

Cool Working out alone sucks!

Hello - I kinda realized that working out alone really does suck, and for anyone that does it is seriously loosing out. Over the past couple of weeks, I have found the most incredible gym partners! We are exactly on the same page; and I always push way more than I normally would! All of you that...

Elite soccer (football) players never squatting?

From all the gym footage I've seen of the top teams in Europe, I don't think I've ever seen anyone barbell squatting, or atleast barbell squatting heavy. I'm sure there's a reason for this, as the trainers at these clubs worth millions of dollars know what they're doing. In the US pro soccer clubs...

Basketball player looking to increase vertical

So I am 13, and 6 feet tall. I can grab the rim with one hand off two feet with a running start, and can grab the rim off of one foot too. I can't seem to dunk yet, and I'm asking for some things to increase vertical. Thanks for the feedback!

Is hypertrophy necessary?

If an athlete wants to hit a 2x bodyweight squat or a 2.5x bodyweight deadlift etc. can they achieve that milestone without working in the higher rep ranges to accumulate mass or can they do a 5x5 routine from the start until that goal? In other words, by doing a 5x5 routine strictly will that...

Is 4.93 a good 40 yard dash for an eight grader?

I am an eight grade football player and i am 6'0" 175 lbs. I play linebacker and i run a 4.93 40 yard dash, i have a 28 inch vertical, i squat 285, i bench 185, and i clean 220. Are these good stats for an eight grader who would like to play varsity as a freshman?

15+ reps endurance training

Studies show that higher rep ranges like 15+ activate more muscle fibers used for endurance (or something along those lines). Let's say for example "John" squats in that rep range for a few months, would building up those "endurance fibers" allow you to perform better in sports like soccer...
