Second chances - My story

I wanted to share my story a bit in the hopes it may motivate others that are in need of a little inspiration. Age 30 for me was not my pinnacle and definitely not my re-emergence into something better. I felt like a 60 year old man trapped in a tired broken body, ready to rest. My knees were in...

Red face "I feel small in the gym"

Anyone else felt the same way? I mean, I look pretty good and well-built at home but when I enter the gym and look at myself in the mirror, I feel like I've shrunk. Now it's not because there are huge guys like Ronnie Coleman in my gym; most guys are my size or smaller than me. It does...

Write yourself a letter, Motivation comes from within!

Ok so in this thread we will write a letter to ourselves about what we accomplished and what we want to accomplish in the future. Start with "Dear Me," then go write away! People can use your letter to motivate themselves but the main purpose of these letters is to motivate the writer. Whenever you...

Causes of Losing Motivation

So, what causes you guys to lose your motivation to work out? I figured we could all list some things and find some solutions. I worked out for 6 years straight. Was doing good, imo. Especially when I could save up to buy more weights. I was repping 280 pounds 5 times. Not bad for me. ...

Long term question

So I have been going at this for basically 7 months, the most i missed was 5 days in jan when i hurt my back a bit. Other than that I never take off more than 2-3days in a row. 3 days or even 2 of sitting at home doing nothing make me feel like a complete piece of crap, I literally can't wait...

Crap day. Is this normal?

I've been doing weights (starting strength) since the start of March and today is surely my worst workout ever. I increased my squat since last time so I thought I had gotten off to a good start only to discover I could only manage three reps on shoulder press with the weight upped from last time....

Growing muscle mass is what gets me into the gym, so here's my problem summed up from my bodyspace: "Goal (Long): To learn how to clean bulk and then manage my BF% with control and less hassle. I've tried low-carb, HIIT, LISS etc. but I am having very little luck. Cutting is by far the...

Lifestyle

It's not about going all out when you feel like it. There's a lot of times when it's seriously not any fun, it can even be painful, overwhelming and draining. A lifestlye is not something you can turn off real quick becuase it's suddenly got hard or not fun. Every meal, every rep, and every minute...

What made you really motivated?

Ok, I'm sure everyone is motivated to lose weight, but what got you really motivated? I know I'm motivated by getting in shape and having it pay off in the end, but what really got me motivated is what happened last night. I ended up going to the club last night to put an official end to the...
