Sticky Thread Sticky: The Official Power Rack Thread - August 2010 version

This is a collaborative effort from the equipment forum members. The 2008 edition has a lot of broken links and rather than keep that one going we decided to start a new one. First let’s have a few definitions to clear up some confusion. Squat Stands: These are probably the most useless...

Is this normal for a barbell?

Hi guys I have just bought an 28.5 7ft ATX ram power bar. Upon inspection I have noticed that the sleeves rotate for a different length of time (one with spin for 2-3 seconds longer) and one of the makes an audible and feelable clicking noise when rotating? Is this common for a bar? ...

Options for wall mount, folding power rack?

I am probably not shopping for "the best", but looking for value. However, I just can't invest in flimsy crap. It seems the benchmark for uprights is about 3x3x.125" wall. I am seeing lower quality racks with 1.5x3 and even saw a free standing one that is using 14ga steel. Would it fail? No,...

Advice on how to put Maximum Weight on the Powertec Levergym

Recommend me a lat pulldown/row machine for home gym.

I do BW pullups on my rack and bb rows are great but one of the things I miss from the gym is a lat pulldown machine and cable rows. I thought about an attachment for my power rack but would rather just have a good stand alone machine.
