All about equipment and iron!

Looking for AWCB weight plates

Hello everyone! I’m hoping this forum will be able to help me find my favorite plates. I have searched on my own locally and with contacts across the country but haven’t had much success. I’m interested in 35, 25, 10, 5, and especially 2.5 pounders. Any direction or information is very much...

Cable system and loading pin

Hi, I am new here and wanted to say hi. I built a cable/pulley system in my basement. I was wondering if you can can recommend a way to keep the loading pin from swinging when there are weights attached to them? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thx

Bolt Fitness Supply - Ever heard of these guys?

Ran across this company on Instagram: http://boltfitnesssupply.com Just curious if anyone had any experience with them. First time I've seen them. Some of their equipment looks similar to Getrxd. Wasnt looking for anything specific but a couple pieces caught my eye & prices seemed...

Is 2x3 the way to go on a rack?

I'm debating between the Rogue SML-2 (3x3) and the S2 (2x3). The SML-2 is newer but I've heard the reduced 2" clearance from the 3x3 for re-racking the bar may be an issue. Any thoughts? Is 2x3 the way to go?

Troy PO Plates Value

I'm looking to outfit my garage gym with about 500 lbs of weight. I got a quote from Troy for 555 lbs worth of their wide flanged plates for $770 or roughly $1.40/lb shipped to my house. I know these aren't top of the line, but I know they are machined well and look nice. I never imagined paying...

Treadmill Recommendations

Looking to replace my 20 yo Nordic Track treadmill for my home gym. Recommendations? Is it possible to get something of decent quality in the $1-$2k range? A few years back, the thinking seemed to be “go commercial.” There seem to be more options out there today. Thoughts?

How to Add a LITTLE Weight to a Dumbbell

I like to do a lot of reps, for which a little bit of weight can make a big difference. When 5 sets of 25 reps of lateral raises got to be too easy, I tried adding 2.5 lb plates, the smallest I had. It was too much. So I got the idea to use the collars from my second set of dumbbells. They...

Help identifying these

I’m hoping somebody will recognize these and know who made them. I’m assuming the logo is correctly oriented, it was photographed in the same direction as the 25lb stamp.

What type of ball to use in FYR 2.0?

I cannot tell which ball would be best to purchase to use for this program. Medicine, Slam, or other type I am not educated on yet? I am in decent shape, possibly intermediate level. Just ran in a 4 mile race and weightlift 3-5 times weekly, 36 yo female. Can anyone give me some advice please?

14 gauge squat rack, useless?

I have very limited options where I live, do you think a 14 gauge squat rack is useless? Kinda looks like it will bend with anything over 225lbs.

Leather patches for ripped bench?

Anyone know where to get these or what theyd be called? Ive looked on amazon but they seem to only have the adhesive version. I am looking for the 12-16" wide patches that are stapled to the underside of the bench. A proper name or advice on where to buy these is appreciated.

Hey guys, just made this deadlift platform and thought I would share my info with you guys. Parts List: (3) 7/16" 4'x8' OSB Boards -- these are basically half inch cheap plywood/particle boards. I guess you could use fancier plywood but it would just cost more ...

Falling backwards during squat fail

This vid got me thinking decent squat stands like Rogue S2 / SML-2 with spotter arms are completely useless when you fall backwards. Is this kind of fail very rare? Even his unbolted rack moved a bit when he dropped the bar. TqJu8rY4eps

Life Fitness Dual Pulley CMDAP For Garage Gym

Hey guys, I have an opportunity to pick this up off-market and I've been asked to make an offer. I would be buying from someone I know well in my industry, so I expect I can get a very good deal. Thumbs up Should gloves have padding or not?

My main purpose in gloves is to prevent callouses when lifting. Most gloves I see online have padding but the sizing inconsistency between brands is BS so I want to try them on first. But, most of the ones I find that don't have straps also don't have padding. Would no-padding gloves serve...

Elite FTS - free shipping

For what is't worth Elite FTS is having free shipping promo right now on qualifying orders of $25 or greater. I don't see any fine print so not sure if that means all orders over $25 but i doubt it. Newb question on what to get

I've wanted to get some equipment for some time but never knew where to start. I've been doing some reasearch and all the advice seems to point toward building a setup around a power rack and an olymic weight set rather than getting one of the all-in-one units. FWIW I don't think I'll ever be...

Vintage Iron Thread

Hi All, I read a post a few weeks ago in which SnowOne and DonForeman suggested a vintage iron thread to discuss/identify old plates. I wasn't part of that discussion, but I see that no one has created the thread, and I have a couple of plates that I could use some help identifying, so I figured...
