Different Type of Curl Bar

Hello Group: I have attached pictures of a curl bar that has rotating handles. I'm not sure who manufactured it...the person I bought it from didn't know either and seemed to think he had gotten from the Ferrigno's equipment store in New York City (if anyone knows who may have manufactured it I'd...

Are 25 kg (55 lbs) plates worth it?

Hello, so I want to buy new weights made from stainless steel. Now I'm thinking about either getting 8 25kg + 4 20kg plates or just 14 20kg plates. It seems to me that loading and unloading with 20kg being the heaviest plate one has is easier in terms of warm-ups but also in terms of smaller...

rubber coated vs stainless steel plates in terms of corrosion (rust) resistance

Hello, I want to buy weight plates and since I'm going to workout outdoors or in a garage (with high humidity) I think about getting either rubber coated weight plates or stainless steel weight plates. The price is not important in this comparison. What is more resistant to corrosion...

Shortest Usable Landmine Bar? Cut down Axle Bar idea

I’m looking to setup a landmine bar in a tight space. I plan on chopping down an axle bar. My question is, what’s the shortest overall length that would still be functional? Ignore sleeve length for weight capacity. I’m specifically wondering about the lever length / arc that the bar moves...

Hi everyone. I'm looking for some specialty bars for my gym, specifically a Gaspari Curl bar and Gaspari cable handle as well as the Troy Suprbar and cable handles. I know that I can still get the Troy suprabrars new, but it would be nice to find them used if I can, for a good price. I'm up in...

Portable deadlift platform?

Hey y’all So my gym is largely kitted out, and I’m looking at details now. One thing that comes to mind is possible having a custom, portable deadlift platform crafted, and I’d like to get your thoughts. Let me lay out the situation. I can’t put in a real deadlift platform because... my rack...

Audio for Home Gym

What is everyone using for audio in their home gyms? My gym is 12'x23' for reference. I'm contemplating a simple sound bar setup for space savings and simplicity but want quality sound. I have a nice JBL flip Bluetooth speaker but it isn't enough sound for the room.

French Fitness equipment - any good?

Looking for a piece of equipment similar to Force USA G12, which seems kind of pricey (5K). Came across the French Fitness FSR80 which looks like a replica of the Force USA G12 - does anyone have any experience with French Fitness? I can't post links because I have never posted before... No...

Floor/ equipment leveling for larger spaces

Hi all - For a space that will have larger equipment (hack squat etc), at what point would you use self-leveling cement to correct unevenness? I have a 48' x 26' main space and I've used both a 4' digital level, a line level and a laser pointer and gotten slightly different numbers but...

Cybex squat press - New vs. Old design

We currently have the old Cybex squat press 5235 and recently come across the new design (model 16510) for sale. Has anyone used both versions, if so, is there any real difference in movement pattern, and which did you prefer? Is it worth the upgrade?

What's your opinion on the Powertec accessories?

I'm really loving my Powertec. So happy I made the decision to go with it instead of the Bowflex Home Gym. The one thing I love about the Bowflex is the cable fly. It's hard for me to replicate that on the Powertec. I do use Spud Straps and do cable flys with it. But I'm not sure it gives me the...

Do you think having accessories for my Powertec in this small-ish space looks okay?

I was really looking forward to the Leg Press. Still have to call Powertec for a few issues. Here you can see my Leg Press on the sidewall. I also ordered a couple more accessories. Do you think it looks okay or is too cluttered? I know I'll have space for the Leg Curl, but I'm wondering if the...

Is it possible to make gains with an incline bench and limited dumbbells?

Hey guys, was thinking about trying a home gym setup, mainly because all the gyms in this entire ****ing province are so small and lack proper equipment or have minimal equipment. Element Fitness Elite Leg Press/Hack Squat

This may be one of the better machines for home use that I’ve seen , and the foot plate for leg the press looks bigger than most models I’ve looked at in the past . Wish I could find reviews, but it’s a fairly new release , so guess I may be the first to do so . Uses rollers instead of linear...

The Strength Co. Weight Plates

I haven't seen anything on here about these plates which were recently released and are also "Made in the USA" and thought I'd give them a mention, although they're quite expensive in contrast to some other iron plates in this category, but never the less they're an option and they appear to get...

I have some serious questions about the Powertec Leg Press Attachment that I got

First off, I do actually like the way the Leg Press feels. But I have some serious questions. The accessory makes me a bit nervous. And I'm surprised how big it is. First, how do I take the attachment out of the bench? It doesn't seem to come off no matter how hard I push. Also, I never could...

Diverging lat pulldown bar

Someone needs to invent one. It could be spring loaded, upside down V. As you pull, bar would straighten out. Spring would have to have adjustable tension for weight used. Being that only 3 or 4 inches would be needed on each side, it seems doable. Hmmm.
