Sticky Thread Sticky: About becoming a personal trainer

I get a lot of messages and questions from would-be and new trainers, and most dedicated gym-goers have at some point wondered about becoming a PT, so this goes out to them. Any questions or comments, fire away. Sr9FXdWc9l8

Sticky Thread Sticky: [new PTs] Wage, percentage and rental

Attached is a rental contract from Goodlife here in Australia . The rest we can't see as the interviewing manager (illegally) wouldn't let the potential "employee" take the rest with them to examine at home (or even worse, let a lawyer see it) and shredded it in front of them. You can see why...

It has been a month or so and I have dropped soda fully from my diet (i'm assuming that helps with getting trid of stomach fat) yet I still drink lemonade every once...

Unhappy Failed my CSCS today. Hold me brahs :(

Took the CSCS for the 1st time today and going into it I had the mindset that it was going to be the hardest test ever. I spent the last couple months really getting down the A&P of the body and all the scientific terms. I then crammed with practice test APPs and online studying the past 3 full...

Unhappy Just got a NASM PES. I just don't feel qualified to have it.

I failed the test twice. I have a nasm got that I got on my own merit (not that there's much of a choice). I used my notes, the textbook, and some of Google to pass. I answered most questions on my own and got a 75%, but I'm not too hyped about it. I honestly feel kind of ashamed really. I need the...

UK. Are personal trainers seen as slave labour as cleaners and lackeys by gyms?

I have been looking at jobs in gyms as a recently qualified L3 PT. I cant find any, not one that offers a salaried position. As a PT you are expected to be a cleaner wiping down equipment half the day, running classes and put weights back and do inductions...but not get paid, oh and be aware of...

I decided on NASM. Signed up last night. Took the practice test on the NASM Edge app.

I immediately took the test after signing up and downloading the app. I wanted to see how much I forgot after 15 years of not being a certified trainer and being out of the fitness culture for approximately the last ten years (up until last January). I did better than I thought I would in some...

Need advice with my workout and diet routine

About 9 years ago, I weighed in about 300lbs. I started by drinking nothing but water and started walking and jogging. I started to eat right and limited my fat, sugar and carb intake so that I could loose fat. I did that for about 2 years and finally got down to about 210 lbs. As soon as I lost a...
