Hello, I'm a 19 year old sophomore to be at Louisiana State University. I spent my first year as a Journalism major basically because it's what I'm good at. I still have aspirations to become a sports columnist, but I've been considering becoming a personal trainer or doing something along those...

When should SPLIT ROUTINES be used?

More specifically, when do we use a 2-, 3-, and 4-day split routine? (i.e., Monday is chest/back, Wednesday is Legs/Abs, etc.) Are there any advantages in using one over the other?

Hello all, Have any of you taken this exam twice? I am wondering if there are more than one set of questions, or if it's the same set on retake. Thanks!

ACE Certification

So I am seriously studying for the ACE test and I was looking through part of it...do I REALLY need to know everything? For example, how many bones are in the human body and the responsibilities of each vertebrae? Some of this seems like they wouldn't test you on it...

Picking a second certification

I have a basic entry level certification that was enough to get me a job at a decent gym. I realize that if I want to make a living off of this I'm going to need multiple certifications so I can apply to better paying gyms. Originally I bought an ACE book but I got scared off because of the...

Recommendation for Certification

As I alluded to in another post, I am a professional in another field and have a Ph.D. in clinical psychology. I have considered certification in personal training so as to potentially add that to my arsenal of stuff I can do for fun and, marginally, profit. I have been training for 30 years, and...

What do I put on a resume geared toward a personal training job?

title says it all.... Basically I'm moving, and I'm gonna walk into the local gyms with my resume and see if they are hiring PT's and just go from there. I would be doing it as a second job, mostly night time hours I'm guessing because I have a normal 9-5 job. Obviously my degree and...

Where do you guys get your workouts for your clients?

Do you just put something together base on your general knowledge and your client's goals or do you just pull something from a magazine or somebody you know? Reason I ask is this: I see this trainer today at my gym training a guy in his 50's with his son who is about 15-16ish, and they were...

How long does it take you to get to your gym?

How far do you live from your gym? I ask this because of scheduling purposes. We all have different clients that have schedules that are hectic. Some want to workout in the morning, some in the evening, some right after work. I live 15mins away from my gym. So it is a little inconvenient...

How many of you have actually hooked up a client(s). I see it at my gym alot. It's more of a social scene with the trainers, than actually training. I just here alot of trainers sleep with clients as well as other trainers
