Sticky Thread Sticky: DON'T LOOK PAST the BASICS

From what I've been reading in this forum for the past several years---and it's getting worse, not better---most posters here are, for some reason, missing the basics of fat loss, and instead, are looking for some magic bullet, or worse, putting their faith in some TV or youtube guru, or some...

Hey dudes... I’m about to get into my second cut... 216ibs

Hey guys!!! I’m currently sitting at 216.5ibs, I’m 5’8 and according to my DEXA scan I did today, I’m 24%bf. Not ideal. Most of it is around my waist and inside/back/ some chest. How feasible is it going to be for me to drop to 175ish, if I start my cut in January and end around June. I...

I've done this before, and I somewhat remember it taking 2 1/2 months or so to drop 2 lbs a week. I may...

Working out fasted/am workout nutrition

It’s not ideal but how bad is working out fasted? Looking at reasons why I miss sessions and it’s because work. So to combat thinking about lifting before work. Thing is I start work at 8. Alternatively how would you Setup your nutrition if you are up @5 and lifting before work? Thanks

Fullbody fatigue

So I’ve been running fullbody for a few weeks and realized a couple of things. I’m not growing as I did in the past with this routine. But also I noticed I’m more mentally fatigued vs physically fatigued. Like I don’t feel that I got workout in but I’m tired. Anyone else experience this?

Losing lots of fat. Diet length, breaks etc? Renaissance Periodization ideas

So I have finally decided to become significantly leaner. Been out of the gym for a few years and now back in for about 6 solid months. Back in May I was at 236lbs, 34% bodyfat. I did a mass phase to get my easy muscle memory gains and then after a maintenance phase I ended up around 242ish at...

Does replenishing glyocen slow down fat loss?

When I take a week or even a day to eat at maintenance I feel more energized the days after. This is also true at the beginning of a cut. I understand this is because the body isn't glycogen depleted. I have some disclarity here. If I'm eating at true maintenance I'm not gaining weight. But if...

Thumbs up IF your fat and eat at maintaince you build muscle becuase of excess energy?

Hey GUys, Just had this thought come in my mind as I am still fat and have been cutting and lifting and did not eat at maintenance and lift. The people that are fat and eat and maintenance, are they more likely to build muscle as their body has excess energy aka fat to use to building muscle?....

Losing fat while trying to gain muscle.

I'm 30, 6'4 and 230lbs. I think I'm what most people would call "skinnyfat". I've always worked desk jobs and have never been an overly active individual. I've never really maintained any level of diet/workout regiment throughout my entire life. I managed to get away with it quite a bit when I was...

Question Weight loss, 1lb, 2lb, or percent?

Pretty straight forward question here. I have heard so often about losing weight "you gotta lose 1-2lbs a week, anymore and it's bad". Personally it does not make much sense, a person who weighs 200lbs and someone like me at 350, 2 lbs for them is a lot more percent of total body weight than for...
