Sticky Thread Sticky: DON'T LOOK PAST the BASICS

From what I've been reading in this forum recently, most posters here are, for some reason, missing the basics of fat loss, and instead, are looking for some magic bullet, or worse, putting their faith in some TV or youtube guru, or some online 'trainer' who's only trying to scam their $$$. ...

Poll Poll: Which Burns More Calories: Biking or Lifting?

I sweat an insane amount doing either one, but I can't decide which of these burns more calories? 2 hours on a gym type stationary bike set to medium-low resistance (4 out of 10), peddling at a medium speed, vs. 2 hours in the gym doing a full body workout, with 63 sets broken up over 21...

Talking Carnivore Diet For Perfect Body?

What's the best approach to accomplish this? I am 6'2, 220 LBS, 15-16% body fat at the moment. I want to get to 10%, but STILL be at 220lbs and muscular. Is it better to cut down to get to 10% and then eat at a surplus to get to 220lbs with still 10% bodyfat? or Is it better to eat at a...

I’m currently on a program that calls for resets—a 10% reduction in intensity after failing a lift two weeks in a row. Right now I’m working my way back up from resets on all four big lifts. I want to start a cut, but I’m worried that until I get back up to the original intensities at which I...

Anyone around 5'9-10 172 lbs 10% bf? Tdee questions.

I blew up to 207 lbs last year and I've gotten back down to about 182 lbs. I would guess that I'm about 15% bf right now. I would like to get down to about 172 and be about 10%. When I started I dropped my calories by 750 so that I could lose 1.5 lbs a week. It worked at first but then my...

Is the calories burned through exercise at MyFitnessPal accurate?

I weigh around 261, I'm 5'-11.5" and I was on a stationary cycle for 20 minutes and MyFitnessPal said I burned 280 calories. I have my current weight stored at the site, but I'm wondering if the estimate of calories burned through exercise is accurate, 280 for 20 minutes seems like a high estimate.
