Sticky Thread Sticky: Attention: Under 18s

The moderators here have a policy that we do not advise anyone under the age of 18 to restrict their calorie intake. So please do not ask for such advice here. This is because there is the possibility that you could stunt your growth or develop an unhealthy relationship with food. If you have...

Sticky Thread Sticky: DON'T LOOK PAST the BASICS

From what I've been reading in this forum for the past several years---and it's getting worse, not better---most posters here are, for some reason, missing the basics of fat loss, and instead, are looking for some magic bullet, or worse, putting their faith in some TV or youtube guru, or some...

Post I don't know what to do

I finally decided today that I'm going to start a journey to transform my body and overcome my anxiety/depression. But when I went on the internet, I found so much info, it made my head spin. I currently sit at 5'9" and 188 pounds (with around >20% bf); I'm definitely a beginner because I have...

Loose skin after weight loss?

I plan to go from 310 to 200ish and the main thing I'm worried about is loose skin. I'm planning on building muscle the same time I'm losing, so hopefully that'll help. I've seen some people with really bad loose skin after weight loss and it's always been a fear of mine.

Do I have 100 lbs to lose?

Planning a estimated 12 month cut. I'm at 280 lbs, 6' 2" 20 y/o. Lost 100 lbs in high school through swimming but became skinny-fat. Got injured and focused on college and gained it all back. I'm down 30 lbs through 7 months of weight training. Unsure if I gained a decent amount of muscle...

How long does the nausea and shakiness last?

So started really lifting weights, and paying closer attention to cals. I am getting nauseated during and after workouts, to the point where I feel like I have to throw up, but don't actually throw up, and I feel a little shaky throughout the day. Read on the inter webs that this can happen due to...

Full body workout only with a kettlebell and dumbbells.

I used to workout and now I have been completely sedentary and I gained about 40kg. My goal is to lose 50kg in year and a half. I can't get a gym membership because they are too expensive where I live. At home I have a 10kg kettlebell and 25kg dumbbells and I might buy stationary bicycle. I...

14 lbs weight loss

Hey! I’m a 29 year old female, 5’5, currently weighing 126 lbs. I’d like to lose 12 lbs in 15 weeks, so my goal weight is 114 lbs. This equals out to about 0.8 lbs weight loss per week. Is this reasonable? My plan is to eat 1500-1550 calories per day, and work out 2-3x per week. Thanks!

Fighting Freshman 15

My name is Jordyn and this is my second semester in college, although I started as a sophomore because I did dual credit in high school. I see so many people talk about the dreaded “freshman 15” and my goal since I started college was to not be just another statistic and not to gain that 15 pounds....

Which macros do you track in MFP?

Would it be wise to cut straight to 10% from 16%-18%? Or would it be better to get halfway, let thyroid hormones recharge, then finish a few months later. IK most people are fatter than they think but the 16%-18% figure is accurate, I can produce clear abs in pictures with good lighting. Weight is...

Am I the only one that thinks the term skinny fat is absurd?

I mean either you're fat or you're not fat. I am pretty sure the terms are exact opposites too. Every time I see someone post about being skinny fat I chuckle. Also, just to be clear. I am fat.
