Sticky Thread Sticky: DON'T LOOK PAST the BASICS

From what I've been reading in this forum recently, most posters here are, for some reason, missing the basics of fat loss, and instead, are looking for some magic bullet, or worse, putting their faith in some TV or youtube guru, or some online 'trainer' who's only trying to scam their $$$. ...

How much calories should I be eating?

Yes I know people will point me towards the stickies but before I even side with that I'd like to know if my current caloric state is enough. Mind you this is not about me losing any weight, I have lost a bit on this deficit but feel weak all the time/hungry. I do measure and track everything so...

Macros timing

Hi, When is the best time to space out macros throughout the day on resistance training days, and which macros should be combined with which ratios at each meal? The same question goes for cardio days for fat loss. Thanks guys, Adam

Cut, lean bulk or maintain?

I am 22, my height is 173cm (5.68ft) and weight 66kg (145.5lbs). For the last 3 months I have been lifting weights 2-3 times a week and have been on a low carb diet (eating clean and trying to get the right amount of protein). I've noticed some "newbie gains" when I look in the mirrow (minimal fat...

Here’s something new (testosterone)

I know that you all aren’t endocrinologists (is there one in the house?) but hear me out... I’m a trans guy who was born in a female body, and I’m still in that female body. I plan to start taking (prescribed) testosterone soon. This will obviously, over time, change the way my body stores fat...

First time bikini competitor

Hey guys. I just did a 3D fit scan to check my body fat and all that. Looks like I have about 28 to 30 lbs to lose to do a show. I'm looking at a show on April 13th. .gives me about 17 weeks of prep. Is this enough or should I shoot for a show that allows me to have more time?

Calories for strength / increasing

Thanks to some great information in replies to earlier threads I’ve made I know with my still high BF% while cutting I can gain some muscle and maybe some strength. I was just wondering, as it has crossed my mind, if I ate at maintenance would I make greater increases to strength at my % ?
