Sticky Thread Sticky: DON'T LOOK PAST the BASICS

From what I've been reading in this forum for the past several years---and it's getting worse, not better---most posters here are, for some reason, missing the basics of fat loss, and instead, are looking for some magic bullet, or worse, putting their faith in some TV or youtube guru, or some...

Sticky Thread Sticky: Attention: Under 18s

The moderators here have a policy that we do not advise anyone under the age of 18 to restrict their calorie intake. So please do not ask for such advice here. This is because there is the possibility that you could stunt your growth or develop an unhealthy relationship with food. If you have...

How long to cut weight / waist size

Hi, I’ve been on a slow cut the last 5 months. Im 38 years old, 5 10’ and started at 83kg - now approaching 75kg, which was my goal. I’ve been trying to maintain muscle during this and have inevitably lost some strength but not too much. I also tracked my progress by measuring my waist (around...

Does eating one meal a day have to correlate with “eating disorder” ?

In order to keep my calories in check, most days I eat at lunch time a nice sized meal and I don’t eat outside of about a one hour window. Someone I know is convinced I have an eating disorder.. they are concerned about my eating. My intake is 1600ish cals but I’m sedentary most days at work

I ended up losing 4 lbs in one week when trying to do maintenance. Is this normal?

Last week I came over to the "What is my body fat percentage?" thread to receive some help in figuring out what my overall body fat percentage was based on the images I posted in my body space. I was told that I was around 22% body fat and my body is most likely to go through a recomp phase if I...

So question about female fitness biology

So I know this is probably a monumentally stupid question, but I have to plead ignorance. I have always been under the general impression that women and men have vast biological, metabolic, hormonal, and nutritional differences. So I always approached my research into nutrition and fitness from a...
