Sticky Thread Sticky: Attention: Under 18s

The moderators here have a policy that we do not advise anyone under the age of 18 to restrict their calorie intake. So please do not ask for such advice here. This is because there is the possibility that you could stunt your growth or develop an unhealthy relationship with food. If you have...

Sticky Thread Sticky: DON'T LOOK PAST the BASICS

From what I've been reading in this forum for the past several years---and it's getting worse, not better---most posters here are, for some reason, missing the basics of fat loss, and instead, are looking for some magic bullet, or worse, putting their faith in some TV or youtube guru, or some...

(Newbie Gains) Will I lose fat on a caloric surplus?

I’m a 6’3 tall skinny fat dude who has never lifted before (I’m 24yrs old). I decided to do a body recomp but i’ve been told that as a newbie I don’t need to focus on cutting because I’d lose fat anyways. So if i’m in a caloric surplus, let’s say 200 calories more, will I still lose fat?

I am currently 16 years old and I have been on a bulk for about 5 months. I really am not sure what to do next. I live in Australia and summer is starting about now but I am not sure if it is worth cutting. Here are my bulk result photos.

20 year old 5’10 male, trying to lose weight but stuck at 220lbs. Need some advice!

Hi, I was about 215lbs when I was 18, dieted down to about 190 at 19, and recently due to issues related to stress eating have ended up back at 220. I have been plateauing at this weight for a while now, not really gaining or losing any weight over the past few months. Anyways, I am pretty aware...

Smile 24/m/198 lb/5'8.... 32% fat 28% muscle need advice please

History: Highest was 220; I dropped down to ~180 by drinking water, vaping, and getting rid of junkfood (1 year ago). Had a fire at my place and a accident a few months back that I would say I'm 98% recovered from. Went on the alcohol wagon, crepped up to ~ 210 a month ago; I basically stopped and...

520 to 420 in 8 months.

So I made a post on this forum I don't remember how long ago, stating that I was 490 pounds, 18 years old, and ready to take my life back. Truth is I was actually around 530 pounds when I made that post, I was too embarrassed to state that I was in the 500's. Well, I started to lose weight around 8...

Hello guys, One thing I have seen and noticed as a huge challenge for those starting off is having to stop eating food. When I say stop eating food, I mean you not eating food you can afford and be pulled into a new way of life that isn't easy to adapt to. Losing weight is no joke or something...

Are ultra-low calorie diets ok when consuming enough protein?

So for example, I take a protein shake that serves 42g of protein for 240 calories. I used a calculator to get that my body requires 90-300g of protein a day. Not saying its what I would do... but technically... why not just buy 3 shakes at 720 calories and 126g of protein? Anything wrong...
