No progress in a while

I am 5'11, 220lbs with roughly 25% body fat. My main goal is obviously fat loss. I want to get into powerlifting so my training is strength oriented. I've been training semi-consistently for over a year and a half but have been seeing little to no increase in my lifts since I started lifting (at...

Sodium/salt and fat loss

As the title says, does salt intake have effects on fat loss? I hear how pros stop salt intake and get this paper thin skin which I thought is only possible by losing body fat.... And lastly what are the effects on someone who eliminates salt intake from his diet vs someone who takes excess...

Intermittent fasting

Whatsup, Iv been doing intermittent fasting for a while now and seen good results (it 100% works for anyone who says if doesn't" and fasting for 18 hours a day (most days) but I'm just wondering if I eat one big meal twice a week on top of 16-8 would that be even more effective for fat loss? ...

Why after a cheat meal, some people loss weight while others gain?

I am curious why after a cheat meal/day, I read on the forum such a discrepancy when people state they lost weight while others say that gained weight. At first I thought it was probably the amount of calories they ate during their cheat event. But I have seen someone has 2 slices of pizza as...

Where is the line between reasonable and unreasonable deficit?

It seems that 500 cal daily deficit hits that 3500 1 lb of fat metric, but can you assume 1k cal deficit is 2 lbs and is that unhealthy? What about 1,500? I am sure the answer is person dependent, but are there some general rules that most experts agree on?

Spitting out food

Balancing caloric defecit to TDEE

Hi! I have recently started tracking my food intake to a tee and hitting my daily macros (40/40/20) every day. However I don’t seem to be loosing any weight. I calculated my TDEE (around 3000-3200) and I set my daily caloric intake to 2600. I think a big part of the problem is that I am a...

Unhappy Losing fat from legs, not from belly

I have a Body Mass Analyzer in the gym. As per this machine, I have lost fat from my legs, but not from my belly (compared 2 readings 1 month apart). If this reading is true, is there any way to lose fat around the belly and lose inches from the waist (eg doing more ab exercises)?

Sudden plateau?

Hey guys, I’m really confused on this one. I’m down to 160 from 186 averaging 1.4 pounds a week. I’m currently eating only 1700 calories (and have been since I began - maybe the problem?). I track everything. However, the last 8 days the scale has not budged a bit. Should I stick to it another...

Severely obese dad

Hi team, A bit about myself - I am Tom, a 31yo father to a 3 year old daughter Raisa and 7 month old Son Aston. For most of my life, eating has been an issue for me. To extremes. Keeping active usually not, but the eating always dwarfed the calories spent.

Smile Worked out and exercised for the 1st time today.

So, since I recently got those dumbbells, I’ve just started this, I can’t post the link, but it is the muscleandstrengthdotcom dumbbell only workout. I’m only 14 so I can’t do much, no gym, no nothing. After that, btw, I did all 12 reps of 3 sets. Surprisingly. After that, I saw how many pushups...
