Sticky Thread Sticky: What is My Body Fat Percentage? - Post Your Estimate Request Pictures Here - Vol III

The moderators here have a policy that we do not advise anyone under the age of 18 to restrict their calorie intake. So please do not ask for such advice here. This is because there is the possibility that you could stunt your growth or develop an unhealthy relationship with food. If you have...

Sticky Thread Sticky: DON'T LOOK PAST the BASICS

From what I've been reading in this forum for the past several years---and it's getting worse, not better---most posters here are, for some reason, missing the basics of fat loss, and instead, are looking for some magic bullet, or worse, putting their faith in some TV or youtube guru, or some...

Feeling skinny. Opinions needed

All, Thanks for taking the time to read this. A couple months ago, I cut from 187 to 174 and then took a couple months off to just maintain and enjoy life. I recently starting cutting again about a week ago, being that my overall goal is to have a visible 6-pack. The problem is I am feeling...

Losing too much weight but belly fat not budging

Just to preface this, please don't respond by posting that basic fat loss link. That's irrelevant to my concern, thank you. Also, I'm not sharing any pics, sorry. 3 months ago, I began using an elliptical trainer (45 minutes a day, about 4 days a week) and implemented a much improved diet. I was...

Is this why high protein foods are really good for you when it comes to weight loss?

"Protein takes the most energy to digest (20-30% of total calories in protein eaten go to digesting it). Next is carbohydrates (5-10%) and then fats (0-3%). Thus, if you eat 100 calories from protein, your body uses 20-30 of those calories to digest and absorb the protein. You'd be left with a net...

Can I cut carbs during my cut

Hey I’m currently cutting and in the past I’ve generally done relatively low carb which worked... I’d still eat like fruits and sweet potatoes but no rice, potatoes, pasta, etc... at the time I wasn’t monitoring my macros so I couldn’t say how many grams of sweet potatoes I was eating... I’m...

Just a personal opinion for people losing fat or have body dismorphic disorder.

I keep seeing posts about cutting or bulking, posts about what body weight to aim for, people running forever on treadmills eating like a rabbit trying to burn all of this weight. But one answer I never really see is how more lean muscle equals a higher metabolic rate. So for all of you trying to...

HIIT question

If I do HIIT 3x a week after my full body routine will it aid in fat loss or just make me lose the muscle I am trying to retain while losing weight? I walk 1 min and then run 1 min on the treadmill at an incline I do this for 15 minutes with 2 min warmup walk and 2 min cool down after.

Thumbs down Advice please. Tired of being a fat piece of ****

Let me start off with a bit of background. I have always been a bit on the overweight side but some years ago I bucked down, made a diet and routine and got in the best shape of my life. Only a few years ago, I started having seizures. This resulted in me losing my job and having to move back...

Walking to gym VS extra cardio

So I'm trying to lose 20kilos over the next year or so. Maybe longer. I go to the gym 3-4 times a week. The gym is 3 miles away. I can get there in 45-50mins walking there. So far I've gone there and back on foot. My question is: Should I go by car and just do more cardio or keep walking?...

Can a calorie restricted diet stunt growth?

Well, you see the question in the title. Even if someone gets their daily protein, mineral and vitamin intake in a calorie restricted diet, would it stunt growth?

At what weight will my rate of fat loss slow down?

I was 308 pounds/140 kgs on April the 1st, the start of this month and I managed to drop 10 kgs/ 22 pounds in 22 days. The first 3-4 kgs/ 11 pounds were most likely water weight because I just pee'd it all out in the first 3 to 4 days of dieting. And then it just started dropping off from there. I...
