3 day a week lifting program for my wife? Help!

My wife has been losing weight for the past few months and she's doing a decent job, but she's been really unmotivated to hit the gym lately. I think it's partly because she has no real program in place, she just kind of "goes through the motions". I'm looking for a solid 3x a week program...

scale/measurements not budging

Hi guys, I originally had a thread on here that seems to be gone. It was regarding "body fat percentage". 3 months ago I had a DEXA scan and was at 34% bf. I am female, 37, currently 121 lbs (started at 127lbs) and 5'4''. I decided to do a 10lb cut by lifting regularly and consuming 1250 cals...

Smile OFFICIAL Cutting Support Thread (Oh noez, not the evil C word!) (no emo)

Hurrow everyone. Thought I would start one of these. We have a bulking thread, and I figure that after all the winter months, there are most likely others (like me) working on cutting down some. So I guess I thought it'd be cool if we posted our progress here. :) Pics are always a bonus as well!...

Spinal Epidural & weight gain

I'm going for a spinal epidural Thursday for a small herniation in my back that really bothers my neck (steroid injection basically) I've been looking up side effects and see that weight gain is one of them, but didn't think that one steroid injection could cause this! Has anyone had experience...

Question What to do?

So far I have been working out for 6 weeks and started out at 27.1 bf. I was at 23.4 two weeks ago when I got my scan. I added cardio almost every day to my routine after lifting. Is there any other ways other than running that I can add to keep losing fat percentage? I do not want to stay at 23.4....

Question Accuracy of body fat scales/machines at the gym?

Hey everyone. I’m a woman who looks lean in person, and has no bulges, love handles, etc. I’ve had my fat tested as a nutrition shop with a scanner, and I’ve come up at 22%. I’m fine with that. I’ve also had it done at the gym on a scale which checks body fat, and wow! It said I was 28.8%. That...

I'm not sure I'm posting in the right place but here I go. I'm a mother to three, almost 40, menopausal and stopped powerlifting in 2005 (youngest daughter is autistic, nobody would take her so gym was out permanently). I fell back into bad habits, eating whatever was easiest and not exercising...

Short of the DEXA scan, what are some ways to figure out muscular imbalances?

I’ve been told that these scans give you accurate information on where you have muscle weaknesses. I like the way I look, but sometimes I’m unsure as to whether or not something should be stronger (back, trunk, etc). I know this test gives you results which pinpoint fat and muscle. EDIT: I guess...

Advice on gaining 10+ lbs of muscle?

Hey ladies! According to a professional test I took (and going off of my own strength levels), I've put on about 8 lbs of lean muscle. I had previously lost some muscle from being sedentary at a past job. I now clearly look like I have more muscle than the average woman. I'm 27. I'd love to be...

Question Bulking if you're fat?

Hi all :) I've been doing some research on bulking and cutting, and the common theme is that in order to gain muscle you need to eat a calorie surplus/gain weight. But my question is, what if you're already overweight? I am I don't want to gain more. I'm basically just...

Losing to much weight and not enough body fat?

I'm 32 years old, 5'6, and my body weight is currently 147lbs. I started at 168lbs. I took my body fat measurements today and I'm between 24-26% body fat. I feel like maybe I am losing too much weight and not enough body fat. I currently eat 1556 calories with moderate carbs and high protein and...
