Hip thrusts using leg extension machine

My gym doesnt have bumper plates, only hex, so doing hip thrusts are really awkward and nearly impossible. What is it about the times I forget my earphones, or my batteries die, I can't really put my finger on why, but I often have a really satisfying workout. I wouldn't knowingly go to the gym, willingly without something to listen to, and a way to listen to it. But maybe I should try it more often.
