Phase 1 Body Weight Squats This is pretty straight forward, but here are a couple things to keep in mind. Start with your stance shoulder width and you toes pointed out slightly. Your knees must be able to move out to the side (follow your toes) this necessary for your hips to rotate...

How many of you squat everyday?

Just wondering how many of you squat everyday? I've read up on the bulgarian approach and read the whole broz thread who also suggests squatting everyday to the max, which is what I have done for the last 2.5 weeks (singles to max then 5 back off sets with 2-3 reps with 90%). I'm pretty new to...

What are good lifts in proportion to bodyweight?

I weight about 190 lb's or there about (just lost like 20lb's hah), what is generally accepted as a good lift for someones weight? i.e. for squat and deadlift, people tend to respect bodyweight x2, bench its anything over 1x your b/w, maybe 1.25+. Reps for good thoughts

What tights/half-tights do you use?

I've been training in gym shorts for the past few months and noticed that some are starting to rip at the thighs from all the cleans I'm doing. I've been doing a lot of triples, and noticed that i hear a tearing noise sometimes when I catch the bar at the thighs on the way down. Also, when I squat...

How much focus do most lifters put on doing the BS? How correlated is it to your max CJ and Snatch?

I restarted my old journal. It's in with the powerlifting journals. http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?p=346417071#post346417071 You guys should post a link to your journals in this thread. There are like 5,000 journals on this site, so that would make it easier. Of course if your...

World Record Hang Clean/Power Clean?

I was just wondering if anyone new of the world record in just the Hang Clean or Power Clean? I would think it would be somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 lbs. In college, I Hang Cleaned 365x1 at 230 lbs which I think it pretty solid but I know that is probably warm-up weight for some...

Deadlift Grip Strength

I thought I had decent grip strength before I started to do deadlifts. Turns out, not so great. I regularly use hand grippers/crushers and twist roller for grip strength. I spend a lot of time on pull ups and can hang from a bar for around 2 minutes max. I also hang from the bar for 3 sets of 1...
