spinal hyperextension during squat

any tips for stopping this? I feel like I might be pushing my hips back to far. Also any tips on pronating ankles? I have been doing tons of ankle mobility to no avail. Any tips would be appreciated. Also sorry if you can't tell from the pic. I had no one to film me.

Squat and Deadlift Programming

Hey guys, I don't post here a ton but I spend a lot of time reading stuff on Bodybuilding.com and T-Nation, either in the forums or on the websites. I'm relatively new to lifting seriously (I started in April) but since then I've put on 15 pounds and have gotten my squat to 225, my bench to 170, my...

I am a 33 year old male that would be competing in 105 in Florida. Learned the lifts in high school and a year of crossfit and have been training on and off for the last 2 years on my own. I tried competing twice this year but both meets were canceled. I’d like to compete for the experience and...

Can't get the double knee bend / power position down

I've been doing clean for years and I've just learned I've been doing it incorrectly this whole time. What I've been doing is just deadlifting it to just past my knees then kind of exploding the weight up using a jumping motion. Basically, I clean pretty much the exact same way that the girl in...

Knee pain when standing up from squatting while on tiptoes

Hello I hope you can help me - I've recently developed pain in the back of one knee, probably from incorporating skipping and olympic lifting (full clean and jerk, snatch, did a lot of mobility work for this) into my routine. Now: Nonspecific pain in my knee: - when I squat down while...

Improve your Clean

So I spent MONTHS CrossFitting and Olympic lifting, but due to a shoulder injury I just can't Snatch anymore. Therefore no point for me to waste my time doing either of those since I'll never go to the Olympics or the CrossFit Games if I can't snatch more than the bar... So I transitioned to a...

Long legs + short torso = good for power movements?

I am a relatively long-limbed lifter. My legs are about 3cm longer than my upper body and my reach is 6cm longer than my height. As such, I am mechanically disadvantaged when it comes to squatting movements; in particular the back squat. That said, I've always had a very strong power clean...

Bumper Plate Repair (and what are they made of?)

The club I train at has a beautiful set of old style Eleiko bumpers that are very popular with lifters - far more so than the modern ones. Recently a crew of bodybuilders turned up and started using them for those douchebag barbell corner rows that such people are so infatuated with and the angled...

Lifting with no bumper plates and a cement floor?

I've been lifting weights for a while but I'm very new at Oly. lifting. Didn't even really think I would be able to do it so I started playing around with light weights that I knew I would very rarely fail with.I wasn't really attached to doing it but now I've grown a taste for it. I have only...
