Can a calorie surplus alone increase LDL?

So since about May this year, I've been eating in a slightly higher surplus than I was before, still a modest/reasonable one... but higher than earlier in the year. I'd say maybe 300 daily surplus based on weight changes. In May, my lipids looked like this: LDL - 86 Triglycerides - 85 HDL -...

Why is the BMI equation needlessly complex?

srs... If BMI is just a formula calculated based on height and weight... why can't you just use height/weight to get a ratio? Why did they instead throw in a bunch of extra steps?

Does the 2000 calorie daily recommendation account for the prevalence of obesity?

Almost everyone would swiftly lose weight with this daily allowance, even with a sedentary lifestyle. Almost everyone also eats well above this amount anyway. So, does the recommendation deliberately factor in what in many cases would be a huge caloric deficit in an endeavor to combat the...
