Hemp Seed Protein/Nutrition Label Question

Maybe a dumb question, but you gents seem to know more than I do about nutrition. Was using Evo Hemp Protein powder for a while. It has a very good nutrition profile. Specifically, I was getting manganese, which I wasn't getting elsewhere in my diet. This is on top of the protein and fiber that...

Take protein after workout even if hit protein/cals goal?

So I already hit my protein/calories goal for the day. I’m on a cut. I worked out later in the day, several hours after consuming everything. Should I still have a protein shake, or just drink water and go to bed? I heard that you should always have some protein after you work out. But I already...

High Blood Urea due to High Protein Diet: Normal?

Just got a series of labs done, and as usual my Urea is elevated. Normal Creatinine, but the Urea is up at 26 whereas the high end of Normal Range is considered 23. Just curious if anyone knows more about how common this is, and whether the elevation is an issue if it's chronic.

I added 500 cals of (mainly) carbs (no extra activity) for 3 weeks and this happened.

Literally nothing in terms of rate of gain on the scale. I guess I might be one of those hyper-responders to caloric surplus, but after gaining at a slow rate (about .25-.5lb per week) consistently, adding in 500 calories from mainly carbs per day in no way changed the average weight gain. I...

Red face Fruit vs Starch for glycogen

I have a genetic condition where I'm highly sensitive to retaining water and have to be careful of my salt/water/carb intake. Would fruits therefore be a good substitute for starches for glycogen replenishment, since they contain mostly water but do also contain simple sugars? Thanks.

Pre and post workout meals - are they that crucial?

There's probably no reason to ask this, but I just wanna make sure. I've searched how many calories Nescafe Brasero instant coffee has and I found it has 66 cals per 100 grams. Though that is based purely on the actual powder, right? I've weighted my serving (2 teaspoons) and it has 5 grams,...

Question Keto vs eating carbs when gaining muscle and about testosterone

So I've been reading that low carb diets lead to low testosterone and that carbs are also muscle sparing. If the keto community argues that ketones replace glucose from carbs for energy, does that mean that testosterone no longer drops and ketones are now muscle sparing? Which one is it?

Anyone hear about the dirt deficiency in our diets?

Wink Since BCAAs are said useless what would be a good zero calorie fruit drink mix?

I’ve read on forums and the general idea is that BCAAs are useless if you get enough of the right foods which most of us do (yeah I’m sure there’s a few of you who would argue that) but overall what’s a good tasting drink mix that’s not any more unhealthy than a BCAA mix. I want something cheaper...
