Excessive protein?

Hi. I was wondering if there's any significant problems eating a higher protein intake than usually recommended after hitting most other goals? Long term impacts of gaining/losing weight over short time period

What are the long-term effects, if they exist, of gaining a significant amount of weight (50-60 pounds in 6-7 months), and then losing that much weight again in another 6-7 months? I would expect that things like cholesterol and blood pressure would rise short term, while you gained the weight, but...

Which activity level?

I'm confused. I hit the gym 3 times a week, with each session lasting an hour and a half. I also run for about 30 to 40 minutes 3 times a week. I have a sedentary job. Do I multiply my BMR by 1.55 or 1.725? A different level makes a HUGE difference. Hence why I'm asking.
