Bulking diet check

I'm ectomorph, 16 and I've been bulking for around 6-7 months now. Before starting proper diet and proper workout routine I was very skinny and weak. I went from 136 lbs (62kg) to 178 lbs (81 kg) during this bulking period (and I'm 6'2/187cm). I know the numbers are crazy but I basically went from...

Unable to bulk without going dirty

I seem to be on this never ending cycle of bulks that start as being lean bulks and eating healthy foods, but somehow always end up in the situation where I have really pigged out and let myself boldly go. I try to stay on a moderate 100-300kcal suprplus per day, but at some point the situation...

Just as the title says, I'm collecting data about how many calories an active person consumes. Be as specific as you like although numbers rounded to the hundreds are the most useful.

Bulking: Gaining 0.5lb/wk

I am thinking of attempting a lean bulk to fill out the 66kg class in order to compete in the future for powerlifting as it may help me gain some additional strength. My goal is to stay relatively lean during the bulk but not end up past 15% bf. I also want to be able to cut easily if I need to. ...

I don't want to do a slow bulk because it doesn't work for me and I progress too slowly. Should I cut down first and then start bulking? If I bulk now...

Does food choice really not directly impact your gains/losses?

I keep reading on here that the food choice does not directly matter in terms of fat/muscle gain/loss. I say "directly" because there could be indirect relations such as lack of energy (leading to poor workouts, etc.) from eating junk vs. eating whole foods. But in terms of direct effects,...

Is whole-wheat bread good for bodybuilding

Question I’ve been on this journey a long time and I look like I’ve never lifted.

Basically, I’ve been bodybuilding since I was 18, on and off (about 7 years). Obviously aesthetics has always been the goal but I have never been able to get lean enough to comfortably start a bulk. I am 6”2 186 (~20%)right now, was previously at 174(~15%) 3 months ago on perfect macros and was...

How is a gram of fat 9 calories when a pound of fat is 3500?

About 453 grams = 1 pound but 3500/9 = 388 Yet it is said that a gram of fat contains 9 calories while you need to burn 3500 calories to lose a pound of fat.

Q regarding bulking

I currently weigh 170-175 lb's and ideally, this is the weight I want to ultimately be at. If I bulk, what am I aiming for? 10-20 lbs over before cutting? Also, when bulking, is your protein intake relative to your target weight or current weight? Thanks
