Stupid Question thread

Post here your silly, one-off nutrition and fitness related questions that perhaps don't deserve their own thread, and hopefully me or other members can help you out with it. This is the place for members to come and ask their ‘stupid questions’ without fear of retribution.

Macro ratio irrelevant or important?

Bros, Can you help me settle this once and for all?. Are macro ratios irrelevant? If I need 4kcals, and based on a weight of 100kg. If I get my minimum 0.8-1.5 g protein/lb lean body mass and minimum 0.4g fat/lb lean body mass, that equals to 1720 kals 4000-1720 = 2280 remaining cals. If I...

cheat meal/day bloat

After a big meal or day of cheating, how long does it take for you guys to completely drop the bloat or water retention off your body? On a cheat day, I gain 10-12lbs on water weight and it takes me a good week for the bloat to go away.

Quaker "lower sugar" instant oatmeal - good choice?

I'd like to start adding oatmeal mixed with a scoop of whey into my meal planning rotation. Problem is, the only oatmeal I've ever eaten is the flavored Quaker instant packets that are loaded with sugar. I'm wondering if these are a good alternative. I need something I can quickly prepare in...

Is it still recommended that protein intake increases when cutting?

Provided that I’m eating above the minimum recommended protein intake, is there any benefit to upping protein intake when cutting? I’ve actually done the opposite when going from bulking to cutting where my protein intake decreases but I’m always above the minimum regardless

What are my Net Carbs

So I've been doing keto for about 2 weeks now and have been (trying) to stay under 10net carbs. I usually subtract carbs from fiber on MFP to get this number. WELL uhhhh so I had chia seed pudding and three of these low carb elevation bars from Aldi. Everything is logged correctly, but I'm...

Beginner Diet Question

Hello, I am an ectomorph looking to put on some weight. I'm attempting to eat around 3200 calories a day. My macros are 472g of carbohydrates, 168 grams of protein, and 71 grams of fat. Does this seem reasonable? Any red flags with those macros?

Growing on .5g to ,6g / lb protein intake?

On about 1/3 of my days I get about .6g/lb of protein, sometimes .5g/lb (The other days are at about .7g/lb). I know, not ideal. It's not a good excuse but I tend to like and eat a lot of fruits which messes up my ratios. I do get my surplus in every day though (3,200 cal or a little more). ...
