Why do users on this site promote broscience?

The science on muscle growth is pretty clear. You need to a) Work your muscles in the gym and b) be in a positive nitrogen balance.

Does muscle gain depend on years trained or on progress?

Weird question but here's my condition: I'm a skinny fat ectomorph who has been lifting on and off for 4 to 5 years with absolutely no muscle gains, yes , absolutely NO muscle gains. Sugar free Mints = guilt free?

I’m sure you’ve all seen the lastest crazy in sugar free mints, “alcohol sugars”. These mints claim no sugar and tiny calories, are these mints actually as good as they seem? Does this alcohol sugar just turn into normal sugar? Should I stay away from these while I try to lose weight?
