On this day BLK00TJ is competing at the 2015 Mid-Atlantic State Championships and Military Nationals. I've competed alongside this lifter and his squat is nothing short of elite. Yesterday I had a few surprise PR's in the gym (sorry no pics or vids) Barbell Bench 265 x 6, Dumbells 110's x 9,...

Question Approaching 40

Hi guys, as the title says, I am turning 40 this year. Have been training many years ago, but bad (nutritional) choices and life's curve balls saw me moving away from the gym. Started drinking way too much beer also. Anyway I now want to get back into training. My number 1 goal is to lose chest...

Best Type Of Deodorant ???

Hey everybody any suggestions on a nice deodorant to use for shaved underarms? Don't really sweat that much and pretty much always wear tank tops or sleeveless outside and at gym, but since shaving smooth the typical stronger deodorants tend to sting when I try and out it on.. Thanks for the help!

Age 51: Would like advice

I am 51 years old and have started lifting weights again in the last few months. I have worked out on and off throughout my life. I don’t compete in any form or fashion, and I’m not trying to look like a bodybuilder. I just do it to try to stay in shape and build a little muscle as I age. ...

Over 40 and just starting out (ADVICE)

I just recently turned 40, and although I was athletic in my teenage years, I never lifted weights. Ever. I just started out, and on my first workout I did triceps and chest and I think I overdid it a bit and got so sore that I could barely move my arms. I attempted to do Biceps/Back the next...

It’s been awhile since I posted. I hired a coach to simply tell me what to do and what to eat because I am just bad at managing this stuff for myself and I can admit it. I am up almost 10 pounds in 2 months at 193 and I couldn’t be happier. Diet is at 3900 50/30/20. Routine consists of 2 legs days,...

10 years and finally seeing my goal through. Gym pic from tonight.

I came back here 10 years ago after a decade off. My first few years focused on rebuilding and stripping off bulk layers of fat. I became a fan of IIFYM and spent 4 years never once staying the same weight two weeks in a row. Always running a surplus or a deficit. Swinging my bodyweight...

Quick question

I probably already know the answer but can you gain strength while in a calorie deficit? I have been in a decent calorie deficit for about a month now and I weight train 6 days a week but i feel like I have lost strength. I know gaining muscle size is also not gonna happen while in a deficit or...

Prostate issues?

I'm curious about this with other 40+ lifters, since I went on TRT I've had my prostate ultrasound measured every 2 years and it's not grown at all, in fact it's smaller than average for my age The dogma is that trt and stims cause BHP but that doesn't seem to be the case at all, have any other...

So, I'll start from the beginning (warning...novel ahead, cliffs below) Last Monday night at the gym I was doing lateral raises and felt a huge 'POP' in my right shoulder. It felt like a really hard knuckle pop, but in my shoulder. It buckled me at the time and I remember looking down and...

Vid of my last show

A buddy of mine, who is far more tech saavy than I, made a nice vid for me from footage of my last show. I turn 50 here in another couple weeks so then I'll be the young buck in the 50+ group.... VST_dGco4po

Old guy, 38 and just getting back into it

I had an electrical problem with my heart that kept me out of the weight room for the better part of four years. OK, I guess do like to show off a little...

Most of you probably know my story; started exercising at 49 years-old after not lifting since high school, lost 60+ pounds blah blah blah... I have told myself many times that the main reason I am doing this is to be healthy. I have mentioned that a few times in various threads but if I am...

At what age did you start to notice a physical decline in your body?

I'm 41 and feel no different than I did at 20. I'm still peaking strength wise, energy still the same as ever. I'm just wondering at what age should I expect to start seeing a decline.

A couple skip-rope vids I made....

I like to skip rope at least a couple times a week for 20 minute sessions. Good cardio and way less boring than regular running. This is one is with a speed rope PLzBzhXeN_s And then this one is with a heavier rope, which makes things are lot tougher and fatiguing. loQ00hY-yj0
