Thumbs up Sticky Thread Sticky: This week in the O35 II

On this day BLK00TJ is competing at the 2015 Mid-Atlantic State Championships and Military Nationals. I've competed alongside this lifter and his squat is nothing short of elite. Yesterday I had a few surprise PR's in the gym (sorry no pics or vids) Barbell Bench 265 x 6, Dumbells 110's x 9,...

UK gyms reopen maybe July?

No date but rumour is gyms in UK reopen July if all is well. The uk's trade association for gyms ukactive has guidance which is fairly vague https://www.ukactive.com/covid-19 but does have specific things such as workout towels banned, 3m squared per person and obvious things about cleaning....

The Bench Press

Last set for 185lbs x 6. The barbell bench press gets a back rap today in the fitness world, in fact most workout advice in today's world is horrible. You need to really shift through the sands to find some sound advice. Or to make it easier just only read about old school bodybuilding. I’m...

I think I’m old

I am 47, used to be young dumb and full of cum. Now I’m beat up and fat. I think I am at a point where I can go one of two ways. I used to be able to grab myself by the bootstraps but I have very slowly faded away. I need a belief and a vision. I used to love to lift, not so much cardio...

What are your thoughts regarding going to failure?

Hey all - What are your thoughts regarding going to failure? (failure defined as not being able to do another rep with proper form). Of course there's lots opinions on the web (Dr. Mike Israetel says no need to because it will negatively impact your next workout so leaving 2 reps in the tank is...

Finally gaining

Ate at 3500 cals for well over a month to gauge maintenance. I wasn’t gaining nor was I losing. So I bumped up to 4000 a little over a month ago and have put on 5 pounds. Started at 183ish now sitting at 188-189. Lost some definition but there has to be some muscle gain involved. Current pics...

Question about lifting on a crappy diet and hitting goals

So I'll try to keep this brief. I'm 40 y/o, 5'10" 185 lbs and roughly 20.5 percent bf. I started boxing about ten years ago and fought competitively for five years. Once I hit 35 y/o and stopped competing I still did some boxing training and started training others for a couple years after...

Body Aches Advice!

Let me get to the point! I hurt, all over, all the time... well I think there might be one toe that does not hurt. I get up in the morn and can hardly move (this is without working out) and it does not go away. I heard someone once say it feels like the beginning stages of rigamortis. And it lasts...

How would you lift with only 30 minutes a day?

I've been lifting for about 25 years now. I did a couple of natural bodybuilding competitions several years ago and got my pro card. My wife and I decided to start a family at the ripe old age of 40 :) I'm now a stay-at-home dad, which is a tremendous blessing and challenge. My wife and I each...

Do mike mentzer`s heavy-duty hit program only work if you`re very fit?

I mean, he advocated later in his life to do a single workout to failure every like 5-10 days, but I tried it a little myself some years and I never grew anything, almost nothing in strength ether, but now later I feel I could probably do a single workout and then rest some days before doing the...

Nothing is impossible is not impossible to believe!

'Age is just a number' is a statement of FACT. Several acts on agt, bgt and other platforms, among others have proven that. If you have a workout or bodybuilding goal, I don't care if you are 70, you have to believe that it is not impossible! This mindset is needed, to call to action, all the...

Fatigued snowboarding

Male 51 years old. 6’ 200 lbs. So I go snowboarding and I get fatigued in no time. Most of the time it’s not the actual snowboarding that tires me but for example, on a snowboard if you don’t have enough speed and you go into a flat area you end up having to take your foot out of one binding and...
