Arrow Sticky Thread Sticky: The Official Ov35 Bench Press Thread!

May as well throw this one out there so we have all 3 major lifts represented. :) Open to ideas as to how things should run but here's how I see it..... - must be Flat BB Bench only (using an OLY bar). No Incline Bench, Decline Bench or DBs. - Raw lifts only. No shirted benching. (wrist...

Lower back issues

Hey I keep getting lower back issues, it starts with a sharp pinch when doing deadlifts, numbs my feet a tiny bit, painful when bending over and stiff. I was hoping it was my form because it is something I can correct, but looking at a video of myself I don’t think it is... In this video I...

More reps less weight vs less reps more weight

Can some explain to me if these two have the same effect on the body? In terms of definition, strength or muscle size. For example: 1 rep for 300lbs = 300 3 reps for 100lbs = 300 2 reps for 300lbs = 600 6 reps for 100lbs = 600 At the end of those lifts you have accumulated the same...

Can 5Kg dumbbells increase muscle size?

First my apologies for the newbie question. Can a pair of 5Kg dumbbells be used to increase muscle size in someone that didn't weightlift before and has very limited muscular mass and a slim build? Mostly taking about arms and maybe a bit of shoulders. Thanks in advance for your help.

how many pull-ups - avg./typical U.S. // fit 50-yr-old man ??

Greetings - I was wondering ... How many pull-ups do you think the average 50-year-old American male can do? And how many pull-ups do you think a fit 50-year-old male should be able to do? In part idle curiosity, but mostly trying to set a reasonable target for myself.

Disappointing past 8 weeks. Newbie gains done?

I'm just six months in. I saw big changes between 0-8 weeks and 8-16 weeks. But now at week 24 I doesn't look I changed at all except for getting fatter. I knew things would eventually slow down but wasn't expecting it yet. And I finally switched from a cut to a bulk so thought I'd see more...

Success with full body workouts?

I've been a split person forever. After listening to an interview from the great Leroy Colbert who always did a full body workout and claimed to be drug free, it has sparked my interest to change to a full body. It would be strictly compound movements (I'm a huge fan of old school training) and 1...
