Arrow Sticky Thread Sticky: The Official Ov35 Bench Press Thread!

May as well throw this one out there so we have all 3 major lifts represented. :) Open to ideas as to how things should run but here's how I see it..... - must be Flat BB Bench only (using an OLY bar). No Incline Bench, Decline Bench or DBs. - Raw lifts only. No shirted benching. (wrist...

Do chiropractors work?

I have 2 slipped discs and wake up sore every day. I used a chiropractor a long time ago for about 6 months, a lot of money later it didn't seem to help. A lot of people have suggested that i get another one. Did I just have a bad one before? Should i try it again? How often should i go and when...

Fix buttwink?

Anyone ever have this problem and fix it? What was the procedure you used? Please note that I high bar, and wear Adidas lifting shoes. Not sure if that makes a difference in the method used to work through this. I have noticed that since I am pushing my squats a little harder lately...

Deliberately took 6 weeks off

Per a Greg Nuckols thread, decided to take 6 weeks off. Tomorrow will be first day back. Goal was to try and reset rbe (repeated bout effect). The idea is to exceed max lifts that have been stalled for 2 years, excepting Deads. First 2 weeks will be nothing higher than rpe 8 while I reacclimate...

Question What are your favorite HEALTHY Snacks?

I'm looking for ideas to pack with my lunch to eat throughout the day. I want to know what your favorite daily snacks are! I have trouble sometimes trying to figure out what to buy at the store. Thanks!

Building my first home gym

After belonging to my local gym for almost 5 years it’s time to build my own gym. I did some research and picked up a Body solid GPR370 rack, a Powerblock adjustable bench, a Rogue Echo bar and 350LBS of run of the mill steel plates. I already have a set of adjustable dumbbells. I feel like I...

How should I proceed from here?

Ok, so I'm still a little newb. It's only been 3 months since I've lifting heavy things. A drop in the bucket. I've been in a cut the whole time, not drastic, but I feel like I may be hitting a point where it might be time to start transitioning at least towards maintenance, if not a light bulk....

Weight gain, same for all?

I have been patiently trying to manage 1/2pound a week in weight gain. Most say add 200 calories a day to do so, if I add a piece of wheat toast (with butter) daily I gain 2 pounds, I'm sure of all fat in the stomach, what gives? Is it possible I need to add 200 calories extra a week or every other...

Doing something different and need some advice

So I was doing a pretty basic routine on weight lifting prior to this week. I used Dumbbells for most of my workout but not really getting anywhere as no motivation working at home, and not seeing any real gains (been doing so for the past two years) so I joined a Gym. I'm 37 soon to be 38 and I'm...

Can you "even out" excess eating the following day?

Yesterday I ate 4,300 calories and today I ate 2,300 to bring me back to my target average (3.3k). I know, not a good habit, something I rarely do. Intuition would suggest I added about 1/4 lb of fat yesterday and today suppressed muscle growth. On the forums I've read the rolling 3 day average...

1.5 years my "comback" in pics (in response to the "should I cut first?" questions)

I have seen a bunch of threads lately about newbs all wanting to bulk when they are obviously overweight. They come in and ask if cutting is counter productive and if they should just go right into surplus. It is my opinion, that cutting first is the best way. It then gives you the room to...

Hyaluronic acid....?

The greatest thing since sex, drugs and rock and roll....or, snake oil? I hear it hyped now as the better suppliment compared to condroitin/glucosamine/MSN. I had the stuff shot into my left knee 3 years ago when the doc said sorry no more miniscus to repair. I was told that I had to have a...

Something Different, AtG Squats as a quad "finisher"

About a month ago, I started doing something slightly "different", and I like it so much I decided to share. HDL Level?

Every year at work we have to get a "biometric screening" for our health insurance. When the Nurse Practitioner was going over my results, she seemed as if having an HDL number in the optimal range (i.e., 60 or higher) was not too common. Many websites indicate how to increase your HDL, and below...

First off, where is the mid 20's section? Not a teen and not 35... But anyways, I seem to have stalled out. Started lifting a little over a year ago, went from 149 to roughly 182 right now and just cant seem to get past where I am. About a month ago, I made a huge change to my diet, eating...
