On this day BLK00TJ is competing at the 2015 Mid-Atlantic State Championships and Military Nationals. I've competed alongside this lifter and his squat is nothing short of elite. Yesterday I had a few surprise PR's in the gym (sorry no pics or vids) Barbell Bench 265 x 6, Dumbells 110's x 9,...

What is your one tip to staying fit above 40

I'm 39 and have gotten back to decent shape since a slipped disc and nerve damage 5 years ago. I lift weights and do cardio, but I don't lift really heavy anymore. I do use excellent form, which I didn't in my 20s. What I find the most challenging is losing weight. It's so slow and its...

Exhaustion, Age, Exercise,or Sleep

I’ve been back in the gym lifting about 5 days a week and an hour at a time for nearly 10 weeks now. I have found that I do get tired, not always rested after waking, and in some cases taking a short nap between getting off work, the having dinner before hitting the gym. Not sure if it’s being...

Anyone With Shoulder Arthritis?

Learned recently that I have osteoarthritis in my left shoulder, probably from an old (non-lifting) injury many years ago. Still managing to lift pretty well, but the issue is likely to progress. Anyone out there dealing with this? Any special approach that's worked for you?

How to break the cycle??

I have been a life-long yo-yo dieter. It's been a vicious cycle: I decide that I hate how I look and want to get fit, then I get excited about my "new life, new me" and lose weight, but ultimately burn out and gain all the weight back and sometimes more. I'm looking to break the cycle. Has anyone...

Let's Talk Smith Machine and Angles.

Something I love about a Smith Machine is being able to freely move the body around a bit and hitting muscles just a bit differently. So join in the fun as I try my best to demonstrate and explain some things. Maybe join in the club if you feel like it..Thanks. kiA5hcFKaCM

Anyone switch from PPL to brosplits or something similar?

With being in my 40s and work and kids, going hard on PPL leaves me wrecked. Thinking about switching to a bro split to maintain 5-6 days a week, but reducing recovery pains. Anyone do this? Did you get better results? If not bro split, what did you do?

F45 Back Injury

A friend of mine became a trainer at F45 and kept pressuring me to join. I was nervous because I’ve had neck and back injuries from bodybuilding and car accidents. I’ve also had shoulder surgeries from tennis. All of the high impact moves in her IG videos made me nervous. Yet she assured me...

Question What is normal testosterone for a 46 year old?

I tried looking this up but I see different opinions on this everywhere. I'm 46 and just had a basic blood test done that included total test level. Mine is at 354 ng/dL. That sounds pretty low to me. Where should I be, and where can I be? I've heard Tongkat Ali and Fadogia have been shown to...

13 years ago I was way strong, was it because I was younger or because I was fat?

I'm 41 years old now, I've never been especially strong, and physically I look in better shape than I ever have (probably best fat to muscle ratio I've had). 13 years ago in my late 20's I went on a pretty reckless bulk. Smart phones were much more basic back then so no apps for tracking...

Here is my goal physique pretty much, and I'll be even leaner and cut with abs.

So because I had to photoshop my love handles and, added shape to my arms and package, I couldn't exactly change my body fat level so imagine me with this shape, yet way more ripped.

Squat Form Check

I have recorded my squats from the side several times for my own review. On Monday I recorded from the rear for the first time and thought I would share for any input. I see my knees flare in a little bit which I don't think is terrible but this also wasn't a real heavy set. This was the 3rd set...
