A good 4 day a week full body plan

Hi all, I posted on here about 7 months ago, when I got back in the gym. At first I made some good gains but not really knowing what I was doing (wasted opportunity I know). When I came on here I asked for advice to go the extra step in order to add muscle mass and was recommended fierce 5....

HUGE Personal Challenge

Hi, y'all. So here's the Cliff's Notes... I'm almost 42 and have struggled with weight and self esteem issues for most of my adult life. Full time job, full time single dad, paycheck to paycheck guy. I gave myself 90 days to get as ready as I could for shirtless pics. Sounds like nothing to...

Training volume for intermediate 50 year-old?

Would like to see what you guys think of my current volume and frequency. I have been working out for about 17 months now. Not sure how much this matters but wanted to mention I have also been in a calorie deficit for about that entire time other than a few months last summer. I am doing a 3...

What is special about Stallone’s build

Hi everyone What is special about Stallone build ever since First Blood. I knew it’s changed over the years and he was at his peak in Rambo 2 and 3 a well as Rocky 3 and 4. He seems to me to have an somewhat unique build that you rarely see even at a body building gym. Is it his proportions?...

Deliberately took 6 weeks off

Per a Greg Nuckols thread, decided to take 6 weeks off. Tomorrow will be first day back. Goal was to try and reset rbe (repeated bout effect). The idea is to exceed max lifts that have been stalled for 2 years, excepting Deads. First 2 weeks will be nothing higher than rpe 8 while I reacclimate...

Changed up my whole workout method, good results

Been a while since I have been around, had 7 months of PT work on my shoulder and it continues, but lost all motivation to lift anything or follow the threads here when my whole upper body was off limits. Anyhow I let myself go pretty bad again (surprise lol) was back up to 248 in Dec and...

Random / Working in

So does anyone else get pissed off when people ask to work in with you? I dont mean people hogging the machine, I mean like when you're only one or two sets in. Its particularity annoying when they are like 30% body fat and just generally look like ****. They act like not doing a set of what you're...

Is the sauna good or bad for muscle growth?

I'm 37 years old and have been lifting for a few years. I've grown accustomed to spending 10-15 minutes in the Sauna after an intense workout. My primary goal is muscle growth. I need to know if I'm hurting muscle growth by entering the sauna after my workout.

New member, 50 yrs-old and down 51 lbs so far

I actually joined this forum in 2007 because I was about 40 years old, overweight and out of shape. But I never made a single post and now 11 years later the email tied to that username was no good so I created a new account. I have lost 20 or 25 lbs a couple times over the last 16 years but...

Physique before physique?

I know there is often a thin line between "physique" and "bodybuilder"…but I think most people recognize a distinct difference in aesthetics. It got me thinking about “bodybuilders” from the 50s, 60s, 70s, and maybe even the 80s that looked much more like today’s Physique class (although physique...

Forarm exercises to alleviate golfers elbow

Because of my work, constant typing and repetitive wrist motions for a long period of time and lack of strength on my forarm I've developed as it seems a mild case of golfers elbow. This has put some doubt in my ability to perform at 100% when lifting weights, especially now that I'm 2 weeks in...

How to achieve 6 pack?

Hi, I'm working out for last one year now, however, unable to put on muscles. I'm getting leaner day by day. I'm 39 year old 163 cm male weighing 127 pounds. I have managed to get a V shape physique but still muscles are missing. My aim is to cut down body fat level so that my abs are visible and...

Question Keys to keeping a small waist as you get older?

I have noticed many people that keep fit get thicker muscular midsections as they age. How can one avoid it? What can you do to keep your waist small while training your core as you get older? Tips and suggestion welcome.

PRs in Random Places

The Sovereign Goat Man’s Bro-Fitness Tip First, a quote: “It’s not a real PR unless it’s in competition.” - Confuzed Shoez The concept of ‘PR in random places’ was something I learned from my second coach. These types of PRs should be taken into account. The theory is that they...

Question Round 2: Bringing it back. Pump is elusive..

Afternoon, my name is Corey, I live up in Maine and after a longer than planned hiatus I’m refocusing on my diet, health, physique, and general wellbeing. I’ve been in and out of the gym for 20+ years and I have a decent grasp on how I’d like to proceed with getting back into “better” shape. I’m...

Slow progression/recovery after a while on fierce five

Just wanted to find out if anyone else is finding fierce five progression tough 35+ (I'm 40). With a couple of resets for illness/surgery, I've now been at this for a couple of years, and its led me down from 85 to 74kg (187 to 163lbs) at 6 foot, and maybe even a six pack with the right...

Sticking to BB Rows for the sake of time efficiency

I know that DB rows are probably better as a muscle builder due to better support, range of motion, etc. Do you guys think it's a fair difference though? Personally I row about 20% more (if I double the DB weight) which is a strong symbol to me that maybe it really is vastly superior as a movement....
