Bench growth

I have been working out for about a year now on and off. My squat has gone up roughly 50 lbs, but my bench will barely move. I’m watching friends (who do the exact same workouts in the morning with me) gain 10 lbs on bench in a week while I’ve been stuck for about a month.

How is it possible that my wrists have grown?

When I started lifting my wrists were about 6.8 inches in circumference. Now after 2 years of weightlifting they are 7.4 inches and my old watch barely fits anymore. How is this possible? I thought there was only bone in the wrist? does ligaments increase in time or what?
