The nutrition label states that 1/2 a cup has 2g fat, 20 carbs, 1 sugar, 7 fiber, 6 protein. Seems to me they are an excellent BB food. But I never heard anyone praising them. Are they under rated, or am I missing something?

They even rank well on the GI scale (aprox) 39,the only problem I see is avalibility, actually I've never ate them, well, not that I'm aware of anyway

You'll find them next to black beans, lentils, green beans. Usually in 18Oz bags. Not canned.

you can find them canned as well. I love chick peas as wel las lentils and split peas, and I am trying to incorporate them into my diet more recently. Getting sick of wheat bread and whole wheat pasta for carbs!

Lentils, green peas, chick peas, beans are far better than oats and whole wheat bread etc,I can't understand why they are not part of the most BBers diet..I eat one of these almost every day

Love chick peas. Easy to find in cans. Just open them up and eat with a spoon.

Problem is my girlfriend won't allow me in the same room with her when I eat them. They create some serious intenstinal issues, but that could just be me.

I put Chick Peas in salads, or eat Hummus which is basically mashed chick peas.

I hate chickpeas plain or in salads, but it is delicious as hummus. Could eat that all day.

I've never had humus, but I'm not really a fan of trying new foods

What about them makes them an excellent bodybuilding food? I don't get it.

About the same nutritional value as any other bean...

Well all beans are healthy if prepared properly ( without unhealthy toppings)

Dressing, oils etc

There's nothing unhealthy with dressings and oils if taken in moderation.

Chick peas are great man. If you put em in the oven with some olive oil, salt/pepper, and whatever other seasoning you want (cayenne pepper, seasoned salt, chili powder) and broil em for 5-10 minutes they taste amazing
