I see at the bottom or somewhere that Avatars can be switched on in the scripts and then people can attach an avatar to their user cp. Is there any likelihood that this will happen in the future as I think it looks neat with avatars and makes things more personal when you see a pic of the person who has posted?

I'd love to see folks on their postings.

Well it would if the forum was being used by several hundred of people, but as it is this is only a small community at the moment. I've seen large community's using av's and I really did not mind it being a little slower because I kind of like the pic's and for the time people spend on forums sometimes, if anything pictures kind of brighten up the place. I mean many people are visually stimulated by stuff like that. One of the first things I noticed when I found the forum was the lack of AV's and you really have to read into what people are saying for a few weeks before you get to know people, but a picture....speaks a thousands words..even one that is just 100x100 pixels.

Here's a pix of my head -- Lol. I was doing laundry & my son took this with his sticker camera. He stuck it to this Valentine magnet & put it on my range hood so I could think of him while I cook! :) He's such a sweetie! I just love getting my picture taken while I'm cleaning house!

I used Photoshop 6, a gift from my web designer daughter. My daughter did it, cloned one of my eyes to the middle, don't know how she did the rest. She works too fast for me to follow.

It came out kind of blurry. I don't know how to fix that when I scan stuff -- I'm such a computer whiz. LOL I have photo editor but it doesn't seem to help much.

Did you reduce the size a great deal because I usually find that if I shrink something in PSP it goes all blurred and I have to use the "sharpen" tool to sharpen the picture again. I haven't used Photo Editor but I have used a few different paint programs and they all seemed to have a facility where you can sharpened blurry photo's. I just played around with the program when I had some spare time and did different things until I knew what everything did. With PSP 7 I have installed a lot of filters though that I haven't even tried out yet.

Thanks gbat -- :)!

Belle, I did reduce some but when I don't they come out poster size -- regardless of the size of the original. Lol Anyway, yes it has a sharpen feature -- I guess I need to play with it a while to figure out what it does. My sweet little son (who knows WAY more than I do about computers) came down & casually said if you need an avatar mom, I have a program that does it & I'll do one for you. :)

Okay, I'm running a test here. :)

Yeah, this is the poster size picture. LOL. I've added my Latin Valentine he made for me in class -- he told me not to get too excited because the teacher said if they did one they could have 5 extra points & that pushed him over into an "A". Ha,ha.

Well, at least you can see my head in that one. :) I look too happy to be doing laundry! LOL

Cool Hib!

Here's a pic that has nothin to do with avatars, but as a shameless Grampa I never lose a chance to show off my Granddaughters. This one is called, "Goofy Gramps and sweeties"

They're beauties! You look like a fun grandpa!

We're probably going to get kicked off this site but since we're on a roll, here's two pix each of mine when they were babies -- they're 18 (Brittany) and almost 13 (Brian) now. :) You have to scroll down to see both pix of each.

This is what they've turned into as of this past Halloween. And, yes, the costumes reflect the personalities. :) This one's burning the candle at both ends while at College of Charleston.

Hib,

Found myself smiling ear to ear after looking at your lovely family. You all look so pleasant, kind eyes, great smiles. I have seen a lot of heartache in families in past jobs, parents and kids destroying each other. I love to see intact family units with the loving countenence I see on your faces. Warmed my insides up. Thanks.
