View Full Version : My/Your supplementation program...

I?ve seen some posts about supplements and I know we have a sticky for posting workout programs, but I?d like to see everyone?s supplementation program. What supps do you take? Why? When? Do you think they help? My supps are below.

Whey protein (Prolab)
Creatine (Optimum pre-load)
Glutamine
Ephedra (Ripped Fuel)

I?ll have one protein, creatine, glutamine drink before a workout and one after. Most mornings I?ll mix protein and glutamine with milk and that will be breakfast. I take two Ripped Fuel?s before a workout to pep me up a bit.

I have noticed a difference in taking these supps, which is why I still take them. However, the difference is not dramatic (they aren?t steroids!). The biggest reason for me to take them is that I get a very good workout with them. I?m able to be focused, with plenty of aggression and energy, and I feel less pain and more ?pump?.

Here are some things I?ve tried, but am not using right now:

GABA (don?t like)
Zmass PM (don?t like)
Nor-Andro (like, but somewhat expensive)
Vanadyl (like, will use again soon)

That?s about it. Let?s hear from you guys?.

The question mark thing happens when you do a copy and paste from your word processor program into the web browser.

Long List but Here goes:
Glutamine - to help maintain LBM while cutting (Like this)
Biotest Tribex-500 - Up's my testosterone (Like this)
Biotest M - Lowers my Estrogene (Not Sure about this)
Glucosamine & Chondroitn - Tendons and Ligiments (Like this)
Folic Acid - Helps with Choleterol
Magnesium - Sleep aid
Zinc - Sleep aid
Niacin - 100 mg - Vascularity
B-6 - I forgot why
Salmon Oil - Need those Omega 3 fats Baby
Protein Powder - Twice a day
Biotest Surge - Post workout Nutrition
Biotest MD6 - thermal to help lose fat

If I had to Only take 3 things it would be the Surge, the Protein, and the Glucosamine & Chondroitn.

I love supps :D

Whey protein(morning,and after workout)
Creatine(before and after workout)
Protein blend(any other time I drink a shake, and always before bed)
Multivitamin
Vitamin C
Flax Seed Oil(about 2 tablespoons a day)
Liver Tabs(with meals)

That's my everyday stuff. It seems like a lot but it really isnt.I also use prohormones,ZMA,1-test and stuff like that but not all the time.I plan on using Glutamine and some kind of ECA when I cut up.

Did I mention I love supps?

Oh,and as to the question of do I think they help. When I was in my teens I bought and used all kinds of crap that did absolutely nothing. Now I wont take anything until I research it and yes I definately think what I am using is working. Some of the stuff everyone should take, not just bodybuilders. The more hardcore stuff isnt for everyone, but its working for me.

Most important supplement is protein powder. I take 3 or 4 shakes a day.
The pre and post workout shake are with whey isolate. The others are regular whey protein.

Also:
Creatine: 6-8 week cycle then 4 weeks off
with post workout shake, then 1 hr later
Glutamine: morning and pre workout (shouldn't be taken at same time as
creatine)
Amino Acids: 6 HUGE friggin pills, 3X a day 45 min before meals
Multi-vitamin/mineral: 3X a day with meals
TKE Joint boost: 3X a day with meals
Saw Palmetto: 3X a day
Flax seed oil: 2-4 Tbsp a day
I usually add some thermogenics when I'm cutting up, also xenadrine, which will start in April. I never gain too much fat.

After a lot of research I started my first pro-hormone cycle about 1 month ago. I started taking Syntrax Sauce Extreme. It's one of the few that are orally available, and I must say that I'm quite pleased at the results. No side effects. My bodyweight has increased by 12 lbs, and strength also has significantly increased.

GNC Glucosamine (3 a day)
Universal Lava (3 scoops post weight workout)

My supplement regime:

A good mutli vitamin.

That's all anybody needs.
I eat clean, drink plenty of water and get 7 hours of sleep.
When I need a quick meal I use Isopure zero carb whey protein.
The rest can be found in natural foods.

Lol, Chi.

The first time I read that doing pre-breakfast cardio burnt off your muscle, I knew that couldn't be true -- I'd have no muscles at all! ;) And, believe me, my multi-year study has been going on for 21 years this November!

Was that..... "burning off muscle" or "burning the muscle" ?

I have missed a lot of supplements some days. Normally I take a mega women's multi, calcium tablets, arthirieze (glucosamine) and glutamine before and after workouts. I sometimes take gingko biloba if I am flagging before a workout. A Lot of the time as I said though, with rushing around I forget them except for the glutamine and the flax oil which are added into my shakes. However, the supplement above I could not really forget about...hubby won't let me..hehe..

I have to vouch for it working too..LOL!

I take:
Multi-vitamin - Centrim or GNC
Glucosaomine/chronoditon
AST Creatine
AST Glutamine
Optimum Whey Protein (not crazy about the taste)
Met-RX protein plus (GREAT TASTE)
Add some protein bars here or there ...
Never tried any ECA product .. they scare me a bit ....

I take you mean..........10 grams.

Also your glutamine at 4,500 mg seems quite a bit low IMO.
I'd recommend a minimum of 20 grams per day split into 2 doses.

Melatonin(not all the time, only when restless)

Charger,
I have restless nights too much, and I know this stuff is pretty cheap and was thinking about it for myself. I even have thought about taking a shot before I go to bed, but I rarely drink alcohol, but sometimes this drives me crazy. How has melatonin helped you? I would think it would be something you would have to take all the time, but you say you use it only when restless? How long to you get results? Any other observations would be appreciated. Thanx.

Charger

Phil,
When life catchs up with you(stress) I take Melatonin. I take zinc/Mag everday but found that alone does not work. The benefits wear off after a few weeks, but I think there other benefits to taking this so I tried Meletonin and got great results.
I take 3 mg one half hour before bed. I can actually feel it working, it's hard to keep the eyes open. It is the best thing I have found, you wake up not feeling any after affects other than rested.
Now after I feel I have caught up on my rest I stop taking it(no need) because I can do fine without it. It's just when stress or being over tired hits. You know the feeling?? When you know you need rest but toss and turn thinking about the day ahead or behind. I'd recommned giving it a try.

I've been real busy for several days, so I'm late in replying to this. I'm ordering some supps. today, so I'm gonna get some for me and my training partner. I have had two weeks of lousy sleep, except for weekends, and I could tell at the end of this week that it was effecting recovery. If I can get at least 8 good hours, I'm doing good.
