anywhere, where would you go ??
All this snow here in Chicago, makes me think where I wanna go and what I wanna do...

For me, Id go to Baja California or San Diego and just surf for about a week straight..Get back in the water, forget about the stresses of the real world and live in a 4 to 6 foot barrel breakin to the left...
Listen to the waves at nite and sleep like a rock...
Ahhhh, that would be heaven for me..

Oh wow Gator, I've long wanted to go to Baja California, to spend some time in one of the more isolated spots. Surfing sounds like fun, but haven't tried it yet.

But I have no complaints. I'm leaving this Sunday for 7 days of fun and sun in Puerto Vallarta! My first real vacation in some 7 years.

Cool, Max! That made me jealous!

Ummmm, I don't know where to pick. I think my favorite trip I've ever been on was a cruise to the islands of Greece & Italy. It was just beautiful! My husband's trying to win a trip for us through work to Cabo San Lucas which would be in June so cross your fingers everyone! :)

I would go to Thailand. Great beaches, amazing food, very cheap prices, very friendly people, wonderful old archeological ruins. Over all fun. Should be nice and warm right about now.

It just topped out at almost 90deg on Superbowl Sunday here in the L.A. area. So for me, I want to go where there IS snow!
Vail, CO Park City, UT Sun Valley, ID etc. Wherever I can do some decent skiing, out of state.

Snow is like purity. It's so beautiful.

But it's good we only get it once or twice a year in Dallas. It's kind of hard to find your golf ball in the snow covered underbrush in the trees.

I'm with Phatman1179 on this. Of all the beaches I've been to (Fla, CA, Japan, Greece, Guam, Gulf, VaB) Cancun has just about the nicest. Especially a little more south near Tulum.

Eye2,

I know what you mean about golf in the white stuff. I had the pleasure of being in middle of a hail storm on about the 6th hole a few years back. I just happened to have had an old orange Pinnacle in my bag. Talk about contrast! Fortunately, I was hitting straight that day, so no trudging in the muddy woods.

Playing golf in the hail is a great mental imagine. That must have been something else!

Be careful with those orange balls though. About 3 years ago we were playing at Shiyawasei no Mura in Kobe, Japan. My wife was using an orange ball. She got off a pretty drive to the landing area. While walking out for the second shots, a large crow swooped down and snagged the ball. He flew away with it in his beak. One of the guys there said it's common. They like colored balls for some reason.

The funny thing is, since I live in So. Cal., I actually prefer to vacation in cold weather places. A good ski trip is my perfect remedy.

Years ago I met a guy in California who had quit workin' and just did odd jobs so that he could surf all the time. I remember thinking at the time that he was a bum... now that I'm a little older the man has my respect. If I didn't have a family at home I'd be gone in a heartbeat. In reality if I could get outta HELLINOIS for a vacation I would love to see Baja. Although I wonder if MagicMel or phikappa have a couch I could crash on until spring. :-)

Hey Homie,
My couch is extremely comfortable, and you are welcome to stay.
But my 2nd boy is due in March, soooooo... I guess we all know what the answer is.

Gator -

Looks like you are in charge of planning our group's vacation. Any place warm sounds good to me!

I used to work for a developer as his financial controller. One of our projects was a casino resort on the Island of Providenciales...... (where you ask ?!) Part of the British West Indies, and further part of the Turks & Caicos Islands. BEEEEAUTIFUL spot, Turquoise water, sand on the beaches is as fine as granulated sugar to walk on. Not a lot to do on that Island really, but unwind and slooooooow down. Ah yes.

I was fortunate enough to spend a total of 3 months there over 2 trips. It was really tough..... forced to live in the resort, laundry, food, beverages, house keeping, etc. etc. all provided for. I'd work out very early in the morning, put in a decent morning's work helping to run the place, lunch out on the beach, a decent afternoon of work, and the evenings and nights were my own.

Phenomenal skin/scuba diving. Even if you're not adventurous, you could snorkel in places no deeper than 3'-6' deep where they coral reef came right to the beach. I brought a bananna in a sealed glass jar on one occasion, and as soon as I opened it up, was IMMEDIATELY surround by 100 neon colored fish, as if they came from nowhere. Really amazing.

I would go there....

It's been years.

I don't mind the winter actually here I like the 4 seasons. It's early Spring and all the cloudy dreary days that make me suicidal. I'd wait till then, then go back.....

Hear it calling you ?

Come to Provo......

come to provo.....

American Airlines flies directly from Miami at least twice a day, via 767....

Come to Provo.....
