This is from another thread. I put it here to make sure everyone knew what was going on. Isabella, Kelly, and you and your whole family certainly have our prayers, Fitnessman.

Troubles
We have had our last two at home with a mid wife with no troubles. I am not a fan of home birth, but we all know there are some battles a husband isnt going to win.

Kelly went into labor at 4am thurs morn. The Mid wife was here by 5. The Dola(Prof. labor support person) was here shortly there after. She had planed on having a water birth(we rented a birthing tub) and things went well at first.

The baby was big, we knew that. Kelly is small. When the baby moved into the birth canal she put her arm up to suck her thumb. With the size of the baby and her arm in the wrong position there was no way for her to come out.

The head was out of Mom, the body inside. No way to get out out. Kelly could not push her out(just not possible), Midwife couldnt get her out and did not hesitate calling 911.

It seemed like in 3 minutes every paramedic in Stark county was here. This big bruiser(this dude had 20 inch guns easy) could not get the baby out. They threw her on a stretcher with the babys head still out and were on the way to the ER.

The baby was delivered in the ambulance. No heart beat and not breathing. They started chest compessions and breathing with a bag. She was dead at this time.

By the time we got to the ER, they had a heart beat. She is in NICU at this time and ALMOST breathing on her own. She is on a ventilator right now.

We do not know right now how much damage was done due to lack of ox. She is having slight siezures. Tubes in her belly button, nose, throat. Kelly is still in hospital and is a wreck.

A nightmare.

She is a pretty little girl at 10 pounds 2.6 oz. Lots of black hair.

Her name is Isabella. She needs your prayers!

I could not have read a more distressing post. I was in tears before I finished it, and I am not ashamed to say so.

I hope and pray that god spreads his merciful hand upon your family, Fitnessman, and comfort you in this time. I only wish there were more I could do.

since I am not that religious, I will not say my prayers are with you, since that would not mean much.
However, all fo my good thought and hopes are with you, if I can direct some good karma to you I hope I can for you and your family.
My fiance's grandmother is very religious, she prayed for my fiance to get a job and BAM! employment. I will ask her to pray for you, Kelly, and Isabella.
Good luck, and my thoughts are with you.

May God take over and make your family blessed. As a father of a two year old I have never known happiness as much as when my boy was born. I know things will be ok for you and your family, my prayers are with you and all children of the world. It sounds like the baby has a great chance, considering the weight, to pull out of this. Usually premies have the hardest time overcoming these type things. Hang in there and stay by your wife and child's sides and you can get them both through anything. Love will make them well.

Fitnessman,

Just been reading this. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Let us know as soon as things are better.

Events like this one serve to remind us how precarious happiness can be, so let's cherish the people who are dear to us while we can.
Fitnessman, I sincerely wish you can still share many precious moments with Kelly, Isabella and the rest of your family.

The power of prayer is an amazing thing. They never thought she would make it.

Isie came home last Tues. MRI and CT scans showed only little damage which will more than likely right itself.

She still has a small tube in her nose that goes to her stomach because she doesnt swallow well yet, so she gets fed through that for now. She is starting to eat some on her own now though.

First day back to work for me today, back to gym next week.

Thank you ALL for the kind words and support!!

With that kind of an entry into this world she has already proved that she is one tough cookie! You can probably start her in the gym soon!!!

You will have to come by the house sometime so my Isabella can meet your Isabella.

Glad to hear that your daughter is doing well. Yes, prayer is a powerful thing. I've never had a sincere prayer go unanswered. My daughter was born with several health issues, the hardest being she's legally blind. I said a lot of prayers that she would prove the doctors wrong. Well, her eyesight improved beyond what was expected. She's in a "normal" school and I can't believe the progress she has made. She's reading above her age level now, and she's amazingly smart. What really blows me away is how spiritual she is. From the mouth of babes...
I'm sure God has given you a very special little girl as well. God bless her in her continued recovery.
