hi all,

got a quick question. i have been going to the gym before work, i am not hungry that early in the morning so i don't eat before. if i was to drink a protein/carb shake b4 the gym, what are we talking about, 20-25g protein and 40-50g simple sugars, to drink before and throughout the workout or just before? also would i be better off eating complex carbs instead i.e., a bowl of oatmeal?

Depends on your weight and goals, Id say have a whey shake with a half cup of oats right after you wake up. Then after workout have a shake with whey and simple carbs.

Nothing beats oats for a great source of carbs for breakfast! Save the simple sugars for your post workout shake.
