Hello. When does a body builder need to have concern for how much sugar is in a protein bar? Is the main concern based on the amount of calories in the bar? I just received bars with 23 grams of sugar in each but I have seen bars with only 2 grams in.

High glycemic sugars are more likely to be stored as fat. So they are obviously not good when cutting, and even when bulking it is better to get your carbs from other sources. The protein bars that have only 2g sugar contain a good amount of glycerine, which is in my opinion better than sugar, as it does not spike insulin levels, though the calories must certainly be accounted for.
