So you guys know the drill. Put down your stats (age, height, weight, bodyfat % etc), current supplements, training routine and most importantly how much fish oil in mg EPA/DHA you use on average because we are going to let you use your preferred fish oil dose this time. Do not tell me how many caps you use because that doesn't tell me much. I only want to know active EPA/DHA mgs only.

Please include how many years training you have and indicate if you have ever used X factor before.

Now I don't care if you use 1800 mg per day of EPA/DHA, but please be honest with how consistent you are with your dosing. If try to get 1800mgs in, but admit to missing doses please take that into account for your "average". The average is more important that your peak daily amount.

Only restrictions are NSAIDs. Although if you must use them for a headache (emergency) please indicate this in your log so we are aware of this. That way we can take this into account.

Any other questions please let me know.

I think we plan on starting the logs around the first week in September give or take. We will be selecting well before that though.

Goals and Background:
To keep on trimming down while cutting without losing any lean muscle. My ultimate goal is to reach a more defined muscular look, and oh yeah to have a kick ass set of abs

Background: I easily lose and gain fat. I seem to gain muscle at a moderate pace.

Training experience:
About 6 years of experience with weights.
Quick Recap of Progress:
2001 til 2004 On and off with the weights. Sometimes serious.
09/2004 til 06/2005 Main focus was weight loss (Went from 205 down to 138 lbs).
06/2005 til Present Shifted goal to just obtaining an overall better body. Bulking and cutting since and have put on a good 10-15 lbs of muscle.

I've used 5x5 training with great results
5 day splits (with various rep schemes, drop sets, negatives…)
full body workouts
Lower/upper splits
Circuit Training
Many self created workout routines based around compound movements

Supplement history:
[i]Products Used (Compilation of products I have used):
All the basics (Whey, fish oil, vit c,….)
Formulated fat burners
Lipo6 (Good can’t go wrong with caffeine and synephrine)
ThermoShred (Perfect for b4 summer)
H.E.A.T. (Stacked with AMP was top of the line fat burners)
Methyl Ripped (Had high hopes for but sucked)
Inferno (Solid fat burner, cost too much)
SAN Tight! (Good energy. Like the fact only one pill. Didn’t try long enough to see fat burning effects)
Optidrene (ephedrine GNC product. It’s ephedra so of course it was good)
thermoDynamX Old Version (fairly good fat burner)
ThermoGain (good for energy in gym,, decent overall)

Miscellaneous
Syneburn (works great with ephedrine and tyrosine, supressed appetite and increased energy)
Yerba Mate' (Perfer to use over caffeine pills)
Ephedrine HCL (ephedrine is always a top fat burner)
L-tyrosine (helps with energy works well with ephedrine/synephrine)
Acetyl L-Carnitine (Didn’t really use large enough dose or long enough)
NADH (didn't seem to get much out of it)

Muscle Building/Recovery
ZMA (Helped me sleep well but I am unsure about other effects)
Novadex XT (I absolutely love this stuff)
BCAAs (Great for recovery)
L-taurine (Cell volumizer. Also good for back pains/pumps)
Rebound XT (Great product helped with increased strength and muscle, caused acne though)
Superdrol (amazing)
Luekic (Good but there’s better options)
Glutamine (I use when I can find it cheap and while cutting)

Creatine Products
CE-XL (Solid advanced creatine)
CEE (prefer using during cutting, stick with creatine mono during bulking)
Creatine Monohydrate (respond well although I expereince the bloating)
Cell Mass (Basically a more expensive bulk CEE)
Size ON (Only tried a sample but I swear I felt it. Buying it some very soon)

Preworkout Supplements
H+Blocker (Great product really noticed a difference)
NO-Xplode (Good but I have to use an increased doseage and effects decrease over time)
Shredded Mass (Tried one sample not bad for PreWorkout energy)
GAKIC (Thought it sucked)

Stimulants
Stimulant X (for some reason didn’t do too much)
Stizm ( Really good kick but seemed to make me feel sick on occasion)
Ergopharms AMP (Nice clean energy boost)

Appetite Suppressors
Hoodia (OK appetite suppresant but I don't believe it lived up to the Hype)
Cayenne Pepper ( Can’t say I got that much except for vicious heartburn)
Lean XP (Works awesome for appetite suppression)

Proteins
Muscle Milk (Tastes Great perfect bedtime shake or meal replacement)
GF Pro Green Apple(Taste: really good; mixability: great; price: Pretty good for WPI)
Extreme Whey Vanilla( Taste: Suprisingly really good; mixability: OK; Price: Awesome)
Nitrotech Strawberry ( Taste: bad; mixability: bad; Price: way overpriced)
Precision Engineered (Taste: OK; mixability: OK; Price: good)
ON 100% whey (Taste: good; mixability: OK; Price: very good)

I would definately apply for this, but I remember the first time that I used x-factor... the minor acne that I previously had on my face had become so inflamed, that I looked like one of those "horror story's" in a proactiv commercial. :/ Maybe I will give it another try when I get a bit older, to the point where I don't have to naturally worry about much acne at all.

I just edited the original post to include that info. Most likely everyone will get their x factor first week in September at the latest. Some may be able to start end of August.

Great thanks PB, I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't coincide with my Primal EAA log but it looks like I'll be able to apply.

My vote is for Giggs, puts together a great log with alot of detail. You know he busts his ass in the gym and has no problem keeping his logs updated.

Training Experience: 2.5 years serious

I began lifting at a body weight of 123lbs, extremely malnourished and underweight. I read up on proper nutrition and training and have been at it ever since!

I have been extremely anxious to try X-Factor for quite some time now, but have been too scared to give up my Fish Oil and similar EFA's. I am hoping that in running a log for MN on X-Factor with my usual dose of EFA's I can make some pretty substantial gains without sacrificing them.

Before & After Pictures, body weight, girth measurements and the like updated frequently. I would also provide a detailed daily summary of my workouts, as well as any additional things I notice (good, bad or otherwise)

YEAAAH BUDDY! :D

Sun-Off but Cardio is still performed

Cardio Schedule/Protocol: AM(1st thing) certain days, sessions 30-45 mins low to mod intensity and a PM session 30-45 low intensity. Usually the PM session is always after a workout unless I have time constraints.

Supplement History: I've had my fair share of all the supps but I've never used PH's/Steroids. ***I have actually used one bottle of X-Factor in the past, but there were too many variables and life kinda got in the way so I coulnd'nt continue.

I can post before/after pic's along w/ before and after measurents if necessary.

Thanks for the consideration...

I'm not good at the macros thing, but I know what works for me and my goals

LEGS: 26.5"
Waist: 30" goal 28" (It's already down 3.5" in a month and a half all of my fat gain goes to my stomach and face for some reason every where else is always lean)

Training experience: been lifting since I was 15 so about 7 yrs started off mixing powerlifting with bodybuilding my joints hurt too much and hurt my rotator cuff benching 335x4 and my knees ached from heavy squats as well as lower back so i cut the rest time, slightly boosted the reps up, and started
performing sets like bench rest t-bar row rest back to bench to keep blood flow in my joints so i was lifting good weight but not too too heavy and my joints and knees do not ache at all ne more nor does my rotator cuff hurt

Training Schedule/Protocol: for the past yr and a half i was perfroming a 3 on 1 off 1 on 1 off 2 on 1 off 9 day cycle

my gains have slowed so i have changed my routine since the summer to a very different style to shock my body since i do not have a spot but to also prevent injury on bench i have moved to smith machine i feel it is a change but also works better for my chest development. I feel changing up a routine is a good way to shock the body and has proven is the past been a great way to boost size and strength. I am now focused more on gaining lean mass than just really strength, bot would be good but more so size.

I will be focusing on almost all compound exercises

Day 4 (optional):
Bis/tris
(I am concentrating on my arms right now)

I go day on day off with these workouts unless I add the 4th workout I will do day 3 and 4 consecutively.
These workouts are all HEAVILY based on the main compound lifts: bench press, squat, deadlift, and then supplemented with other smaller compounds like pull-ups, dips, rows, military, etc... there is no isolation lifts except for Day 4.
I have found this workout to be the most effective for natural training.

Why you should choose me:
1) I'm a bad-ass mother ****er
2) I have been contemplating using X-factor for quite a while
3) Entertaining poster
4) Training/diet knowlege
5) Know how to effectively put on LBM

Iím currently working on a sponsored Green MAGnitude log on the Controlled Labs forums and expect to finish at the end of August. Will be posting a review on here once Iím done.

Very consistent training. Obsessed even. My diet is clean and consists of oats, eggs, some fibrous green veggies, chicken (usually steamed or baked), one 80g can of tuna each work day (5 days a week), a minimal amount of red meat and other healthy jazz. Red meatís lacking from my diet for the fact that itís expensive and usually a bitch to prepare. Iíve been very interested in trying X-Factor but it would be hectic to purchase in Canada (expensive).

If I were to text X-Factor, I would continue taking Purple Wraath for sure. I have Black Out coming in the mail, and I would love to take this at night for recovery. If you guys donít want any variables changed, I could continue taking my Green MAGnitude because I have another tub. I also have White Blood coming in the mail, so I could hold off from taking Black Out and just continue taking White Blood at night againÖ should be a pretty good log with updates every workout. If Iím not chosen as a tester I might log Hyperdrol or just buy some X-Factor anyways and log it. Not sure which I will try first, but maybe you guys would be interested in having me log this for ya. Canít turn town such a great offer, especially seeing as how EPA/DHA is now toleraaattttedddd!!! :D

GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE TESTERS :D :D :D

I'd love to test it out.

I have been planning to run it for about 3 months now, but wanted to do some other things first. And honestly, the dietary restrictions would make it difficult for me as I consume a lot of nuts and omega-3's on a regular basis, but can certainly change up the routine for a two month span.

I have literally tried just about everything. Currently on Size-On and SuperPump stack, which is just about the most effective non-hormonal stack I have used. If chosen to test X-Factor, I would continue to use a creatine based product as I can easily tell what effects, if any would be in addition to it.

I have never used X-Factor.

Been training since 1994, but of course missing time here and there as life dictates. I have absolutely no desire to look like a bodybuilder, but rather I do this to be healthy and try to look better naked. :)

I currently employ HST training, which I have been doing for about the last year. I like this style very much and am able to gauge progress very effectively. I train the entire body every other day.

Current goals are to do a nice recomp; dropping a few pounds of fat and bolstering some LBM. I have serious issues with fat gain, easily gaining fat off of 2000 calories or more.

More importantly, does this mean that since you are re-formulating X Factor that my current [x-faxtor] batch is going to be of a lesser quality and standard then this upcoming batch?

What has initiated the reformulation and how will it be better then the x-factor that i have now?

Lastly, i only purchased 1 bottle and since i am 1\2 way through it i want to get my second bottle to complete the cycle. Should i wait for this or just get what i need now???

Thanks.

We are not re-formulating x-factor.

No, Just like Jmil said X factor will always be straight arachidonic acid no matter what this test shows. Molecular nutrition is not in the fish oil business.

Training & Cardio Schedule/Protocol:

My routine is a Monday, Wednesday, Friday split. It looks like this:

M - Chest and Back
W - Cardio and Legs
F - Arms and Shoulders

I also work abs and lower back every workout. All exercises are performed 3 sets of 10, unless otherwise indicated.

Monday:
DB Bench Press
Incline DB Press
Seated Chest Press
Lat Pulldown to front
Reverse Grip Lat Pulldown
Lower Back Extensions (3 x 12)
Abs (3 x 20)

Wednesday:
Cardio, bike/elliptical
Leg extensions
Lying leg curl
Lower Back Extensions (3 x 12)
Abs (3 x 20)

Friday:

Triceps pressdown
DB kickbacks
Dips (3 x 12)
Front raises
Side raises
Rotator cuff exercises
Lower Back Extensions (3 x 12)
Abs (3 x 20)

Diet: I am currently aiming for a lean bulk. I do not count calories. A typical day looks something like this:

Meal 1 - 8:45 AM - 1/2 cup of oatmeal, cup of coffee
Meal 2 - 12 PM - turkey sandwich and crackers
Meal 3 - 5:30 PM - post workout shake
Meal 4 - 6:30 PM - chicken/beef with vegetables
Meal 5 - 11 PM - pre-bed shake

Current supplements: NOS Precursor (Get Diesel), multi-vitamin (Vitamin Shoppe Vita Man), fish oils (Country Life Omega 3), Green Bulge (Controlled Labs), and whey protein (ON 100% Whey).

Supplement history: Scivation Xtend, Designer Supplements Basic Cuts, S.A.N. Sesamin, creatine monohydrate, glutamine, HMB, ZMA, CLA, BSN No-Xplode, BSN Cellmass, Hydroxycut Hardcore, Ripped Fuel, Animal Pak. Have also taken various samples of products, such as Stimulant X, 17-HD, Oxydrene, etc.

Short Term Goal: To add on some lean mass, increasing both size and definition.

Long Term Goal: My main interest is building mass, although eventually I would like to be trim as well as solid. A long term goal would probably be a solid 180 lbs with low bodyfat. Another long term goal is to be in shape enough to compete.

Prescription/Recreational drugs: None

Location: PA

Reason we should select you: Iíve heard some great things about X factor, but both price and the list of things to avoid has kept me from trying it. My current and long term goals coincide with the aim of this product, and at only 144.5 lbs, I really do need something to help me along with my goals. I always log my workouts in a journal, so keeping track of my progress wouldn't be a change to my routine. I compulsively check the BB.com forum multiple times a day, and would like to help out others by providing useful knowledge of this product! Having others follow my log would also motivate me in my own workouts to keep consistent as well.

Stats:
Age: 28
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 200
Body Fat: 17-18%
Body Type: Not sure (I can build muscle pretty easy, but alot harder to tone out)
Goal: to keep my current size and tone down to around 10-12% body fat. (16 3/4" biceps, 44" chest)

Current suppliments:
Lipo 6 (2 twice a day)
Multivitamin in the morning
protein shake before morning work-out and after afternoon work-out
Protein bar after morning work-out and before afternoon work-out

Current workout plan:
Monday: chest (6 different lifts)
Tuesday: shoulders (6 different lifts)
Wednesday: legs (6 different lifts)
Thursday: back (5-6 different lifts)
Friday: arms (4 lifts for biceps and 4 lifts for triceps)

30-60 minutes of cardio every day (change it up daily, treadmill, eliptical, stair climber, run outside, swim, bike, etc)

I do dropsets on everything I do to maximize the lifts (ex: 135x12, 155x10, 145x10, 135 to failure).
I also have a list of different excercises I follow, that I change up every week to keep the muscles guessing.

Very interested in testing X-Factor. I used it about a year ago but this was before I knew anything nutrition wise, so I discontinued use after about 3 weeks, after reading about the diet restrictions. I eat a lot I mean A LOT of peanuts/peanut butter. Good I only bought one bottle to start.

Years of Training- 1 serious year
-- More detail: I started training in December of 05. This was when I started reading up on supplements and bought X-Factor b/c it was the thing people were raving a lot about. Like every newb I thought a supplement would make up for a lacking diet. After not seeing any gains with X-Factor after a few weeks I quit using it, and completely overhauled my diet. Now Im eating 3k calories a day, 200 grams of protein and about the same in carbs. After implementing my diet into my training and supplement schedule I went from a out of shape 145 lbs to a more in shape and leaner 160 lbs. My max on bench went from 175 to 250. And keep in mind, this is all within 4 or 5 months.

Id really like to test X-Factor and I think I would do a good job b/c Ive been keeping logs on the last few things Ive used and I think Im learning how to keep a fairly good log. And Id love to pack on about 10 more pounds in the next few months. By the time the first of September comes around I expect to be 2-3 pounds heavier.

I'm still a bit sketched out about x-factor due to my last log of it. The addition of fish oil with it may help, but i didn't really change my diet THAT much last time. Have any other changes been made to x-factor dosing protocols that are supposed to help fend off the sides? The only other thing that I could gather from my last experience was to taper the dose in.

PB are you sending two bottles for the test as was recommended previously? or just going with one bottle?

I am mildly interested in applying myself, but I'll hold for now. :D

Its two bottles. I'd consider you a top pick if you applied and then you will be able to compare how this works to borage oil. But whatever you decide is cool.

Looks like you have been putting in good gym hours (judging by that training log you used to have/still have) which is important if you want to get a IL-6 lowering effect out of this stuff.

Just checked out your log. Did you ever get any feedback on what may have caused the allergies? Or gain any other insight? As someone who already has allergies, I wouldn't want to have the same problem as you did...

The rashy spots weren't allergy and were from the x-factor, and my allergies have been slowly getting better since i stopped x-factor but have not gotten completely better. I figured out that I did have them very mildly before taking x-factor, but had only noticed a VERY mild reaction to 1 thing, it seems that x-factor just made it a lot worse.

I believe what you are saying because it is postulated that anti-histamines work by blocking phospholipase A2.

I would like to add, that for the sake of experiment, I would be willing to push the fish oil dosage as high as you would want someone to go. I have regularly taken 20+grams per day and feel comfortable going higher.

ditto in that I've taken vast amounts of flaxseed oil + fish oil plus borage(for the GLA) in high amounts. I cut the flaxseed out for a couple months, but its something that I've found to be very beneficial for me. I used to the GLA to help treat my eyes, as I came back from Iraq with very dry eyes and when I was using the Borage Oil, my eye condition improved quite rapidly.

Training experience:
From last summer until last December, I weight-lifted very foolishly, too frequently, not proportionately, overtrained, and was uneducated about nutrition, nutritional timing, etc. I had a few cosmetic surgeries that took me out of the gym for 3 full months (Jan - March of this year) and during that time I did a ton of research, reading and gaining knowledge about the human body, physical fitness, weight lifting, dieting, gaining muscle, losing fat, etc.

For 4 solid months now, I have been on an all-out bulk using all the information I have learned to give my body the best chance at getting where I want it to be. 4 months down, my whole life to come.

Why are people thinking higher is better with fish oil? I feel "stoned" when I take too much of that stuff. Neurotransmitters like serotonin need arachidonic acid in order to work right.

Ok enough of my soap box. I might let you use the maximum average dose you can tolerate but I don't want anyone taking extra above and beyond what the use. 20 capsules over 50 days would kick my ass and might even raise liver enzymes (considering Omacor does that at far lower doses than what you are talking about)

Now Reverend, if you can show me some data indicating 20 capsules a day (long term) does anything beneficial I may listen.

X-Factor Tester

BIO- My name is Chris. I live in Pennsylvania and i am a college student. Right now im living with my girlfriend and im training at Golds Gym. I have been training since middle school was wrapping up. I beleive i started mid 8th grade year. I lifted some weights in 7th grade, but nothing consistant. I am an amatuer bodybuilder, i havnt competed yet, but i am in the bulking process. I hope to compete around a year from now. I have a brother who also lifts. I've helped him out a lot, he helps me out. I have a very respectable lifting parnter, who has been with me the past 4 years. Were both in a bulking phase, getting big, so we can compete. I love to lift, i love everything about it, and i beleive i could be a great tester for this! I would do one hell of a log for you guys, probobly one you have never seen before, because i would take a lot of care and pride into it. I have a lot of respect for people who try to help out others, therefore i would never let that person down!

EPA = 1400 mg
DHA = 1000 mg

NAME- Chris
AGE- 23
HEIGHT- 5`4 and a half
WEIGHT- 198lbs
BODY TYPE- MESO and loving it

MACRO'S
CALORIES- 4200
PROTEIN- 320g
CARBS-470g
FATS-105g

WORKOUT SCHEDULE
Day 1- Chest
Day 2- Legs
Day 3- Shoulders
Day 4- Back
Day 5- Arms

I do a 2 on 1 off style of training. I dont want to overtrain, and my best gains have always come from 2 on 1 off. I have previously tried 1 on 1 off, or 3 on 1 off, and 2 on 1 off was the best i have seen as of yet!

SHORT TERM GOALS
I would like to keep bulking and gain size and weight, without letting bf go over 18%. Im at 16-17% right now!

LONG TERM GOALS
I would like to become a professional bodybuilder in the ifbb. My ultimate goal would be competing on the olympian stage.

PREVIOUS PH and AAS USE
NONE. I have never used any PH's or AAS. I almost ran a cycle of superdrol, but last minute complications screwed that up, so as of now, i have never used anything. I plan on doing a cycle of superdrol in december. When i come home for winter break.

PREVIOUS X-FACTOR USE
I did a previous cycle back in february, and i loved it! The diet part was very hard, because of all the restrictions back then. That made it somewhat of a problem. I managed to gain around 9lbs with a 1% increase in bf. I had some pretty good strength gains as well. Mainly in my big lifts tho. Overall, i loved it, just the diet made it hard. Now i feel i could do even better because the rules have changed! I feel i could maximize my gains even more! I did get more sore as well on it, but i liked that because i new it was working! The gains were def worth the 100$! If the diet was so hard, i probobly would have done another cycle.

PREVIOUS SUPPLEMENTS
I have mainly used the basics. Protein, Weight gainer, creatine mono, multi, and fish oils. Some of the little goodies i managed to slip in i will list below

Cold Fusion Explosion
MRI NO2
Universals GH Max
Bulk Cee
SuperPump 250
Bulk AAKG
TRIB
Rebound XT
Activate
Blue Up

Other than that, i pretty much stick to the basics, and let my training, and calories do the work for me!

CARDIO SCHEDULE
I do very minimal cardio. At most, it will be 3 days a week at 20 mins. I dont try to kill myself with it as im bulking. I love the bulking phase, and gaining size and weight, even if that means some fat as well!

TRAINING
I never do the same workouts. They always vary as im always switching stuff up, i love all exercises. Most are freeweights, i rarely use machines. I love to deadlift and squat! I like pushing myself on the big lifts, even tho im not a power lifter.

CURRENT WATER INTAKE
Almost 2 gallons daily. I love water!

WHY YOU SHOULD PICK ME
I think you should be me, because i have previously spent 100$ on a cycle of x-factor that i had to butcher my diet to do. I will be able to easily compare that cycle with no fish oil, to this one with fish oil! There will be a comparison factor there. I have a lot of respect for people who care for others, and i could only promise you that i wouldnt let you down. I would make sure my log is the most informative out of eveybodys, or at least try my best. I have a lot of time on my hands since im at college, so im on my computer all day on this site. I would update every day, sometimes more than once a day and do whatever you guys want! I am a very respectable person, and doing this will keep me away from ph's even longer, keeping me safer.

I would like to say thanks a lot of molecular nutrition for giving us all this opportunity, and best of luck to everybody. I hope it all works out, and the best people who truely deserve it, get picked!

Chris

If i missed any info, or you want any more, please feel free to ask, and i would be more then willing to answer it! I promise that if i get chosen, all the feedback i give, will be completely honest and unbias! You can hold me to that!

Resembles the Cut Diet, but not as strict. High fats, high protein, low carbs. I have been doing similar to this for a few months now, my body tends to store fat very easily so the lower carb is fine with me. Around 1800/1200 EPA/DHA a day, I rarely miss any supp/meal timing so that is a solid number to go off of. I have been training for almost 5 years now, did some competing back in high school, but now I am just trying to transform my body into something that Ive always wanted. I still lift religiously though, rarely miss a day and same goes with the diet, rarely do anything wrong in that department. If there is anything else, please let me know.
Monday - Chest/Abs
Tuesday - Legs
Wednesday - Back
Thursday - Off
Friday - Arms/Abs
Saturday - Shoulders/Calves
Sunday - Off
*LI cardio after each session, approx 30 mins. Also the off days might switch once I get back to school, but this is my base now.

Well I am planning to do an X-Factor and after reading about the EPA/DHA situation turning out positive, I was going to try this anyways. I can also post on AM.com and I think I have done good logs in the past and now once I get my cable for my camera I will be able to do even better logs. I have a way to do bodyfat as well. I am a nutrition student so I stick to my diet since I will have to make a living by it anyway. I will be recomping slowly basically, I have read logs in teh past showing XF to do this with great results and I would love to add this to hopefully my final phase of a recomp. Thanks for the opportunity MN and I will be following these logs closely whether I am chosen or not.

Phosphate Bond,

I forgot to add this in, and it wouldnt let me edit my post. I was re reading your starting post and i feel as if i may have left this information out, about how consistant i am on my dosing.

I am going to be completely honest here..

Workout Days I very rarely miss a dose. I mean very very rarely. That is because on days i work out, i wake up at the same time, and my schedule is very strict, like when i wake up, when i eat, when i go to sleep etc. Therefore it makes it close to immposible to miss a dose. Most of my fish oils come after a meal, and my pill case is always with me haha.

Non Workout Days As well as workout days, i very rarely miss a dose. But im not perfect and on these days, since i sleep in usually, since its summer, i still take in the same amount, just the timing is a little different. I dont take my first dose at 8am like i would on workout days. But during the time of my log, i will be back in college. Any my first class in 8am, so i cant really see myself missing a dose. Im not a party type of kid, and the person i live with while at college is a bodybuilder, so were pretty strict with what we do. And we dont really ever go out and get drunk and all, and go to partys. That was more of senior hs and freshman college stuff.

Good Luck Everyone!

Chris

Wow thats a high amount, for a supplement like x-factor. Im quite shocked with this actually because its kind of like a proven supplement. That boosts my respect for your company so much, giving that many people this opportunity!

Whats the reasoning behind running this with fish oil now? I think its pretty cool you guys are doing it, because i always felt fish oil was important to keeping me healthy, and when i did my x-factor bulking cycle back in februrary i didnt like cutting it out, but i did. I have been following a lot about x-factor, and i've seen how much the rules have changed over time, the diet restrictions were very tight back then, now they losened up, and that makes me a lot more confident!

Its going to be interesting to see how this affects x-factor. I had great sucess with x-factor and almost stayed on fish oil while i took it, but i didnt. Im started to wonder how my results would have been if i decided to still take it?

Training: On and off for about 3yrs, serious training for the past one year. I've always been interested in bodybuilding, but didnt really start researching the fundamentals and getting my diet intact until a year ago, which is when I started lurking around this site, then finally joined eventually. Over which time I've tried programs and workouts with reps that go as high as 12 per excercise, to as low as 3, and everywhere in between. Over the past year I went from a flabby 160lbs, to a much leaner 188, which is where I sit now, yearning for 200.

I recently just started Mark Ripptoes program of 3x5 training which I'm sure you're familiar with. Heavy Compound lifts on nonconsecutive days primarily based around Squats. Progression is very easily tracked on this program which would be a good method of testing X-Factor's efficiency during this testing period. The Actual breakdown looks like this:

Workout A: Squat 3x5, Bench 3x5, Deadlift 1x5, Dips 2x8
Workout B: Squat 3x5, BB Rows 3x5, Standing Mil Press 3x5, Chins 2x8

As stated above, workouts everyother day, so its 3 or 4 workouts a week depending.

Diet: Im currently bulking on ~3300 cals. Primary foods are: Tuna, Peanut Butter, OATS (lots of them), Milk, Peanuts, Chicken, Eggs, Lean Chili, Beans (primarily black beans), Pasta and Fruit. I eat as clean as i possibly can with cheat meals very seldomly. 5-6 meals a day, 3-4 shakes a day.
I take my diet very seriously, which is why I was reluctant to try X-Factor in the past, but now that the limitations have been lifted, I cant wait to see the possibilities.

Previous Logs: None to date. But I would love X-Factor to be my first one. I have plenty of free time to keep a detailed log, as well as a meticulously prepared workout log to track progression, as well as general mood throughout the day.

Why should we choose you?

Because, quite simply, I would LOVE to test this product. I would consider it an honor and a priviledge, and I will not dissappoint.

I believe what you are saying because it is postulated that anti-histamines work by blocking phospholipase A2.

Will we be allowed to take anti-histamines while on X factor? Or would that interfere with it's effects?

Training experience: About 5 years, but really only 2 .5 of those were serious and by serious I mean paying strict attention to diet and actually learning how to follow a set workout plan. I started out at 140 lbs in '02 and last october i reached 235 but I felt as though I was carrying too much fat so I cut down to where i am now and am slowly trying to bulk back up.

Training Schedule:Protocol
Monday: Chest/tris
Tuesday: back/bis
Wednesday: legs/delts
Friday: Chest
Saturday: back

Cardio Schedule/Protocol:I do cardio Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Also play a lot of basketball and tend to walk a lot.

Current supplements: v12, anagen, multi, sesamin, On Whey, GFPro, Ultra Peptide, supercarb(not that often though)

Current Diet:Right now since I started bulking again just recently so only gunning for 4000 cals per day. I track it all on fitday so if you want I can post a link up. My minimum protein amount a day is 400 grams and the rest is made up of low gi carbs and good fats. My main Carb source is actually Ezekiel bread followed by their English muffins, brown rice and rolled oats. I also usually eat a lot of blueberries and a few servings of veggies a day. As for fats it mostly comes from either flax, fish, almonds or almond/peanut butter.

Short Term Goal:bulk up to around 210 keeping my waist below 34"

Long Term Goal:hmm hard to say as it fluctuates but I would guess around 230-235 at a sub 10 body fat.

Prescription/Recreational drugs:I drink some weekends.

Supplement history:Long List
Protein-On, substance, GF Pro, IF Pro, isopure, designer whey, twinlab whey, tp blends, ultra peptide, micellan, miceledge by Jarrow, jay robb whey,

After reading recent reviews on X-Factor I am ALL OVER THIS,if picked I will be anal retentive with my review and log:)

I'm a endo through and through so I have been using fish oil religously since reading up on how it promotes a leaner phenotype through altering ones body on a cellular level.I take 1920mg EPA + 1600mg DHA nightly before bed with a casien based protien shake.I haven't missed a dose in months, hence the terms "used religously",hehe.

I've been apprehensive about buying X-Factor despite the good revews simply for the fact it could have oxidative effects on epa/dha but hells yeah,I defnitely want to try this supplement out with the changes that have been made.

I don't have any issues with migraines and I can deal with minor headaches if I get them so I have no qualms with not using ibuprofen for the duration of the trial.

I am cutting with a modest deficit, strength preservation across the board increase on several lifts are what interest me.

I should be selected on the grounds that I am quite dedicated to lifting and will offer excellent feedback in return for some help with shaving down my supplement bills, simply put.

I haven't done any logs or reviews in the past but as I said above,I've no problem with updating on the regular and I will post pre/post pics.

Age:30

Sex:M

Height:6'

Weight:198

Daily water intake:1-2 gallons but quite often much MORE,I work outside.

Bodytype:endo

Training experience:6 years lifting,10+ years of long distance running

Training Schedule/Protocol:
My lifting is comprised of lower reps with heavier weight and usually some static holds and drop sets towards the end of each muscle group.I do a lot of Olympic lifting with an emphasis on explosive strength taking the forefront over the traditional bodybuilding principles over emphasizing squat, bench and deads;)

Day 1 chest/shoulders
Day 2 legs/abs
day 3 rest day
day 4 back/bi's

Cardio Schedule/Protocol:10 minutes post w/o of steady state;jogging at a steady clip.Sprints once per week.

Current supplements:

CVS generic glucosamine 1.5 g e/d
Pharm Assure Extra Strength fish oil yielding 2 grams 1920epa/1600dha e/d
Primaforce CEE
200mg caffiene,pre w/o only

Macro breakdown is 50/25/25,pretty damn clean.

10 kcals b/w high pro/fiber,healthy fats,low carbs from fruit+whole grains only.Refeed at 2500-2700 once per week.

Short Term Goal:Cut to 180 at 10% b/f

Long Term Goal:
Deadlift 500 at a b/w of 180 with no straps/gloves.I haven't attempted maxing in several months,I can probably pull around 450 conventional with chalk but no straps/gloves.Last 1RM attempt had me at 435,with a solid hold for 4 seconds.

I also want to be reasonably lean and retain a decent degree of muscularity as well.

Prescription/Recreational drugs:No history and nothing now,see my signature

Supplement history:
Creatine Mono-Optimum
a month long stint on Avant Lab's Sesathin while lean bulking
generic glucosamine
generic epa/dha

Will we be allowed to take anti-histamines while on X factor? Or would that interfere with it's effects?

Im kind of curious to. I dont have to take any anti-histamines but i have never read anything about x-factor and anti-histamines. Interested to see what phosphate bond has to say about that.

Im kind of shocked that not more people have applied with how long this has been out. This seems like something most people would jump on but i guess not. Im really interested in how this plays out! I have yet to do a log on here, and im really looking forward to doing one, i have way to much time on my hands not to do a really detailed log haha.

I would love to be an x-factor tester using fish oil and omega 3s. I used it once before at about this same time last year and had good results( about 5-6 pounds of lbm and a 1% drop in bodyfat).

Stats:

sex- male

Age- 32

Height- 5 foot 8 inches

Weight- 158

Body fat- 9%

waist- 29 inches

Chest- 41

Thighs- 23

Arms- 15

years training- 13

Supplement History: creatine, jungle warfare, x-factor, glutimine, Androstendione( in the 90s), amino acids, protein and tribulus.

routine- HIT training( Mentzer/Dorain Yates) with each body part worked once every 7-10 days to complete failure.

EFAs': 10 grams of flaxseed from power butter a day, 200 miligrams of linoic acid and 100mg of Oleic acid.

Additionally, I have a good set of calipers I can use for body compositon tests, which I am very profiecient with as I am a NSCA( National Strength and Conditioning Association) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist( I can provide the no. upon request).

Reason for selecting me: My work as a strength and conditioning coach and 13 years of bodybuilding have provided a solid bedrock of knowledge, which, would yield a thorough anaylysis during this x-factor cycle.

Yeah x factor should stack fine with sesamin. MAN vaporize would be a good choice.

Late september is the soonest I would be able to start it. I am running a few other sponsored logs until then and I don't want to log two products at the same time (out of respect for the companies that have sponsored me). I take in about 2g of fish oil per day (1 cap is 1,000mg 180 EPA/120 DHA) if that fits into the range you are looking for.

Wow, you guys are taking in a lot of testers. I'm surprised that with you guys also favoring moderate fish oil users too, that more people haven't applied. What the hell is wrong with everyone? lol

Well nevertheless, once the logs start showing up I'll have to make some time to check them all out. The biggest turn off for me was cutting EPA/DHA because I can't live without that steeze. I also eat a can of tuna everyday at work (5 days a week) and it would make meal prep even more of a bitch to cut that.

When are you guys announcing the testers, PB?

Well yeah if you were on 3-4 caps (900-1200mg) that is what I think would give an easier to interrupt response. Now if You just added 10 caps very recently they will not have had time to reach max concentrations in your body.

Use whatever you have been consitently on. The idea is to use XF with your established dosing (not add AA while increasing fish oil at the same time). this is why I was saying earlier to use whatever omega 3 dose you think you have been averaging.

Would it be alright for someone to try running Sesamin along with the X-Factor? I'd drop my fish oil intake if I could see how it works alongside the Sesamin, probably a 3 x 1000mg dose per day, the Scivation or SAN variety, it doesn't matter which to me.

I can go either way, but it'd be fun to see how much of an effect the X-Factor has when taken with Sesamin.

I can go either way, but it'd be fun to see how much of an effect the X-Factor has when taken with Sesamin.
****, i'm running a Sesamin log (180 days, on day 16 or so) right now... does that disqualify me?

I think it would be interesting to log a combined run of X-Factor/Sesamin. There are quite a few people who would love to use X-Factor in a cutting cycle and I wonder how much the Sesamin would diminish its overall effects, or if at all, because the science is a bit sketchy. The amount of AA that is being supplemented should be far beyond what is needed to make a noticeable difference in the body, regardless of the Sesamin being taken.

Why does everybody want to lower there fish oil dosages and change variables around? I thought PHOSPHATE BONDstated that he wants everybody to stay at whatever dosages there on and not change anything because your body wouldnt be use to it. I dont know the exact terminology he said it with, since hes to smart for me haha on the details of the body and all, but thats whta i picked up on a previous post made by him.

PB, when you mention 1g a day are you referring to 1g of EPA/DHA combined or just the total amount of grams in the fish oil capsule?

Colin O'Malley

PB is refering to the amount of epa/dha that you take each day,not how many grams of fish oil you take.

I may as well make mention of a shameless bump as a X-Factor tester for myself while answering this question...pick me,pick me,pick me....hehe:)

I've always wanted to try X-factor but since it requried the exclusion of certain products like fish oil and other anti-inflamms I never tried it out. I wasn't willing to give up these products because the health benefits were numerable and cardiovascular health is of utmost importance to me. But now that there's the possibility that one can use X-factor with these products I'd like to give it a shot. I'd hate to run fish oil and or sesamin and have it negate the effects of AA and waste money. But if there's a chance I can get it for free and try it out why not?

It should be noted that I am currently running a Controlled Labs Black Hole and SesaGlow log which is scheduled to complete around August 28th. I understand the importance of a detox or off period to start with a clean slate for a new product. But Black Hole has a short half life and I intend to run Sesamin and fish oil with the X-Factor.But I understand if this is too closely spaced together to do another log so shortly after the completion of another one. But if permissble I'd like to be considered for a trial.

3 caps fishoil 1000mg at 180mg EPA 120mg DHA = 540mg EPA 360mg DHA
3 caps Sesaglow 1000mg providing 500mg seasmin so 1.5g of sesamin

Age: 28

Sex:Male

Height: 5'9"

Weight: 183.6lbs

Bodytype:Ectomorph 9%bf from approximated from a combo of tanita scale and skin fold calipers

Training experience:
Weightlifting fairly seriously for the past 10 years making typical newbie gains and mistakes. With age brought experience and wisdom and in the past 5 years I've gained 30lbs lbm while dropping 20lbs ft. Tried numerous lifting programs with varying success. Used to box at amateur level for a couple years then got introduced to bjj so main focus is on that now. So my weight lifting goals were never to be a huge bber as it would restrict agility and range of movement thus compromising athletic performance as a combat athlete. I do want a nice looking phsyique but carrying 220lbs on my frame just doesn't work for me. Training for endurance and strength is the primary focus nowadays.

The Lifting Routine
3 Day Split
Day 1 - Legs
Day 3 - Back / Biceps / Shoulders
Day 5 - Chest / Triceps / Shoulders
Usually lifting on Monday, Wednesday, Friday but sometimes it's Monday, Thursday, Saturday depending on various factors.

The Cardio Routine
3 days per week for 30mins

Tuesday or Wednesday - Low intensity cardio, usually eliipitical, depends on Monday's leg workout.
Friday - Always a run, sometimes on treadmill if weather doesn't permit, but that is rare.
Saturday - Usually I run at a modest pace for 30 mins but as of late I prefer to ride the mountain bike as it gives a better upper body workout

MMA Training

Train 3-5 days a week usually twice a day on Saturday and Sunday. Classes are a little over 1hr on weekdays and 2 hours on weekends. No set pattern on training, some days it's Muay Thai others it's bjj techniques and rolling. Weekends are usually a "mock" mma fight/sparring sessions.

Current Supplements:
Primaforce Substance WPI
Ergopharm I-Pro
Multivitamin (NOW ADAM, NOW EcoGreen, AST Pro 32x, etc)
3g Fish Oil
3g Vitamin C
1g NAC
500mg Grapeseed extract
3 caps NOxidant
200mg Idebenone
2g ALCAR
3g CEE
4g Taurine
5g L-Leucine
1g Green Tea Extract (50% EGCG)

These are the staple supps I try to run year-round. All have been used consistently for at least the past 6 months and will continue to do such.

Current Diet:

I don't precisely count macros as I just don't have the time to do such unless for a log or a cut. But current diet consists of a minimum of 300g protein, 300g carbs and 75g fat. About 150g of protein in diet comes from shakes.Diet isn't very clean as I do eat processed foods and usually a fast food per day. I do eat a lot of fruits and vegetables to compensate, I'd say about double the FDA's recommended amounts. Also helps keep you nice and regular. Likely won't be making any changes to diet but will play it by ear and see what happens. Obviously if chosen I will describe diet in more detail as it's more pertinent to products of this nature.

Current Daily water intake: Water consumption is at least 2 gallons day and this does not count juices, protein shakes, or other beverages, just straight water.

Age: 21yrs old

Sex: Male

Height: 6ft

Weight: 160lbs

Body Type: Ecto

Training experience:

I'm your typical

hardgaining, ecto, although I hate those terms. I've been 135lbs and 6' tall

since the 6th grade and just never seemed to grow much after that. I have an extremely

fast metabolism and can eat like a horse, yet still have trouble packing on

the pounds. About the time I turned 20 I became fed up with how skinny I

was and vowed to do something about. I wasted my time going back and

forth with lifting for about 10 months, making no real progress. Then, I found

Bodybuilding.com. I started reading about diet and proper nutrition as well as

proper supplementation I've since put on about 25lbs of lean mass with very

little fat, if any, gained.

Training Schedule/Protocol:

Day 1: Chest/Tris
Day 2: Back/Bis
Day 3: Rest
Day 4: Shoulders/Traps
Day 5: Legs/Abs
Day 6: Rest
Repeat

Cardio Schedule/Protocol:

None currently. I will start running a few miles a week to train for a physical exam I have coming up though starting in a few days

Current supplements:

Controlled Labs Green Magnitude
Prolab/Primaforce Creatine Monohydrate
ON 100% Whey
NOW Green Tea caps
Men's One-A-Day multivitamin

Fish Oil:

4 caps a day

EPA=720mg
DHA=480mg

Current Diet:

As an extreme ecto I'm not real strict with my diet, but I still

stray from **** like soda, candy, ice cream, cookies, donuts, etc. Some of

the basics: Lean beef, chicken, tuna, fish,

lean turkey, lean ham, wheat bread, brown rice, OATS of course, baked

beans, lentils, eggs, green veggies, and some fruits. Some of the dirtier

basics are things like potatoes, pasta, frozen pizzas, popcorn, and reduced

fat Ravioli and other "hearty" soups and such. I'll have a Wendy's combo

probably once a week as a cheat meal(believe me, the fat is high, but theres

a ton of protein as well). I've been at around 3000-3500 calories consistantly

for a while now but I aim for 3500 cals on off days and 4000 on days I lift. I

wont post specifics about my diet but I'll try and get the daily intake

numbers to you guys.

Short Term Goal:

Bulk to about 180lbs, then reevaluate my goals

Long Term Goal:

200lbs at a sub 10% bodyfat

Prescription/Recreational drugs:

None

Supplement History:

I have used both creatine monohydrate and MCC and DCM(Green Magnitude) with success. ON Whey has been my protein powder of choice. I've also used Lean Green, White Blood, No-Xplode, and Hyper-H.

I'm pretty hyped about getting chosen for this too. I ran my own X-Factor/NHA after they selected testers. I used it for a cut, lost 15 lbs, and gained strength! I can't wait to see what this can do with a good clean bulk plus the old reliable EFAs.

So far the apps are looking really good. It looks like we will have a good split between normal omega 3 dose (600-1200mg) and high dose (1800mg/day).

I'm very interested to see how this pans out so I'll definietly be following the logs very closely. Hopefully people will still get the pumps and I won't have advise on "sides".

As far as "weight gain" goes I'm not sure what will happen. It may be that the omega 3s effect on slowing metabolism helps (they slow metabolism but make the remaining part more aerobic and efficient) or it may be that there is too much inhibition of insulin secretion at the tail end of the curve.

Fish oil would only be beneficial on a recomp,I see no plausible reason why you would think otherwise.

In higher dosages (such as 2-6 grams epa/dha e/d) it may negatively effect anabolism to a small degree,at least it certainly has potential to be detrimental on an outright bulking phase.

Recomping is an altogether different beast than bulking however and epa/dha favorably enhances nutrient partitioning, especially in caloric deficit. The slew of benefits of epa/dha really kick in for endos,as ectos and mesos do not have to contend with subpar leptin signaling along with the other downsides associated with the endomorph phenotype.

As long as the fish oil doesn't block series 2 prostaglandins it should still work. Later (after the results come in) I'll give you a much more sophisticated answer taking into effect other things. Where along the y-axis the insulin secretion curve will start and end and how this can be applied to recomp is what I have beeen looking into lately. Actually there are a lot of interesting variables here (but the insulin curve is the one most interesting to me). Not to mention the fact that beta-2 receptors use AA for full signaling effect which is also related to partitioning effects here.

Age: 20

Sex: M

Height: 6'1

Weight: 233

Bodytype: meso/endo

Training experience (as much detail as possible): Been training seriously for the past 3 years. I played 2 seasons of college football, but will not playing this fall, to concentrate on what I have more passion for and that is bodybuilding. I've geared my training these past three years for different reasons, a lot of it being sport specific, with a mix of hypertrophy geared training. Since December 2005 I have followed a couple different templates geared only toward Hypertrophy. I consider myself a pretty advanced trainee. I'm also a certified strength trainer.

Current Training Schedule / Protocol (as much detail as possible): I'm a firm believer in various volumes and frequency. I believe natural’s have to train differently to maximize hypertrophy and traditional split routines aren’t the answer.

Current Diet and macros (as much detail as possible): Currently I'm running a carb cycle geared toward strict LBM gains. Mon/Tue/Thur/Fri are training days and require 160-200 g carbs per day. Wed is midweek and I consume 60-80 g. Sat/Sun are No-Carb days and I stay under 40g both of these days. These carb counts are all only in terms of supplemental carbs i.e. not fruits and veggies since I regard these as having a minimal impact on blood suger levels. I consume a minimum of 250 g protein/day. I get healthy fats from fish oil, almonds, peanuts and olive oil. I only consume supplemental carbs(oats, sweet potatos, rice) after exercise. I eat 5-6 meals/day. I also make a religious effort to consume Veggies and/or fruit with every meal. Antioxidants baby mm… mm…

Current Daily water intake: 1.5-2 gals/day

natty pb , tuna and certin oils
when i frist did an xf cycle i was told to stay away from those foods for the most part
is that not the case with the new logs ?

What type of diet restrictions are you putting on this testing? thx.

Age: 28yrs old

Sex: Male

Height: 6' 2"

Weight: 178 lbs

Body Type: Ecto

Training experience: 1-1/2 yrs. off and on when my shoulder isn't bothering me.

I've been skinny all of my life and in high school I tore my rotator cuff playing baseball. Last March I made a vow to myself that I was going to gain some weight. At the time I was around 165 lbs and was fighting my shoulder hurting off and on when lifting. Things were going so-so until I found BB.com this January. I've learned a lot from being on here, and picked up a routine.

Training Schedule/Protocol:

Day 1: Chest/Tris
Day 2: Rest
Day 3: Back/Bis
Day 4: Legs/Abs
Day 5: Rest
Day 6: Shoulders/Traps
Day 7: Rest
Rotate

Cardio Schedule/Protocol:

10 minutes on a stationary bike before my workouts.

Current supplements:

ON 100% Whey
Men's One-A-Day multivitamin
Scivation Xtend
Primaforce CEE
Muscle Milk

Fish Oil:

6 caps a day

EPA=1296 mgg
DHA=864mg

Current Diet:

As an ecto I have a semi strict diet. I gave up sodas, candy, and all other things. With the exception of a cheat meal here and there. I concentrate on my three big meals due to my job. I eat a big breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I supplement with protein for my other meals. I know real food is better, but honestly in a construction job it is hard to bring meals to work and find time to eat them.
I stick to the basics like lean beef, chicken, tuna, fish, lean ham, wheat bread, brown rice, lots of oats, beans, eggs, green veggies, natty peanut butter, whole wheat pasta and some fruits. I've been at around 3000-3500 calories for a while now but I aim for 3500 cals on off days and 4000 on days I lift.
Short Term Goal:

Bulk to about 190 lbs

Long Term Goal:

Be around 200 lbs with <10% BF

Prescription/Recreational drugs:

None

Supplement History:

I have used both creatine monohydrate and Cytogainer. ON Whey has been my protein powder of choice since I started. I've thrown around the idea of trying Shock/Storm in the coming weeks.

I compeltely agree, there's nothing more I hate than seeing an unfinished log. Some people just quit the log with no explanation and it leaves you wondering why they stopped. I can understand why soe logs seem to taper off though as the end draws near. It can be somewhat monotonous repeating results that were the same as the prior day. But it's all up to the people who read the log to offer support and ask questions to keep the log going and give hte poster some feedback as well.

I agree, I always find it intriguing to read a variety of logs and compare results from one individual to the next.

If selected I definitely plan on putting up a complete, detailed and to-the-point log.

Too many logs become clustered up with a variety of outside issues that have no place there. I plan pretty much to make it exact, but also short and sweet, so that a reader can clearly see what I'm experiencing without having to go through pages of filler, and then compare it to others.

True. That is the risk that supplement companies take. Lots of unscrupulous people, so it sucks because we end up with a lot of the same people testing a variety of products over and over as the supplement companies will always gravitate towards "the safe choice." A few reps have told me that for some of their products, 1/2 the testers didn't even start a log, so its quite the issue when companies take a chance in order to test their products out and get nothing back for their investment.

Yea, that is kind of sad. Say what you want about company reps and all the controversy with that, but the fact that people make a pledge to do something in exchange for a product and then do not keep their word, is rather lame.

I understand that things in happen in life, emergencies occur, but the sheer number of non-compliants regarding logs, is simply staggering. Its easy to forget about fulfilling your end of the bargain once you got the goods in your hands. But, if people are not completely positive that they will be able to do a log, or do not think that they will be able to complete it, they should just not put themselves up as testers. The idea of a free product sounds cool to many people, but there are always people who don't want to do the work afterwards.

Yea, but its not like a huge chore. I think some people get carried away, PUT WAY TOO MUCH detail in their logs, and then cannot keep up with it. I think a log can be handled in 10 minutes a day, go over how you are feeling, how your workout went, once a week update your weight/bodyfat, perhaps add some pictures, go over dietary changes, like I said earlier, I think people dig themselves a hole because they put too much unnecessary information in their logs and can't keep up with updating everything.

Supplement companies just want their products tested in a fair environment, with the tester providing details regarding the product, and not a whole bunch of other filler that aids nobody really.

Basically.......KISS(Keep It Simple Stupid) would make it a lot easier for people to finish their logs.

Then again, there are just those who are dishonest and have no intention of ever starting a log, much less completing one, and those who simply are attention-deficient and let their log slide away after a few days or a week even.

I spent about an hour creating this log; colors, bolds, fonts, <img>'s, etc. and its pretty fancy imo.

http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=824910

The rest is just copy and paste. Once you build a format you can just quote your old posts and fill in the new info. It would be dumb to put all new html code in for every post. All in all, I probably spend 5 minutes a day on that log, if that. 5 minutes x 80 days = 400 minutes / 60 = less than 7 hours of my time over a 80 day period for typically a $40 product. Not a bad deal imo.

I used it, and I've gone through so many brands of fish oil and flaxseed oil that it would make your mind spin. But I've come back to the brand that I started with, Barlean's, and I am fully convinced that they have the best EFA products out on the market. Their new flavored capsules are outstanding too. I like their liquid orange-flavored fish oil as well.

For flaxseed oil, the cinnamon-flavored flaxseed oil from Spectrum owns all others :)

I think Bill and I will be picking sometime this week. I already have my preliminary lists set up.

The instructions should be pretty easy to follow. Can you guys get some baseline stats for your lifts? I don't care what lifts they are just as long as you do them. I think 4 or 5 lifts will be fine.

Also it would be nice if you guys had some way to evaluate body composition changes.

Also, on the subject of Bill. Does Anabolic 2006 feature writeups on the all the once legal anabolics (Ergomax/SD/Max LMG etc)? I have 2004 but it features the more classic drugs.

I think everybody put height and weight in their application. But for the people tested if you can get either get some bodyfat calipers or have someone measure it for you that would be essential (mainly because I'm hoping his X factor/fish oil stack has some partitioning effects. Not always is "weight gain" a good measure of quality gains and that is why I want you guys to also measure strength changes too.) What hinges the most on this little experiment is whether or not that fish oil dose you said you take is really what you have been averaging. X factor is pretty powerful though so even if that is a little off it probably won't matter.

Anyway whatever happens should be interesting nonetheless.

I know that I already have baselines tracked right now, so that would be no problem for me. As for the cody composition changes, I take measurements 1x per week and pictures to compare. Unfortunately, I dont have anyone to do skinfolds, but I do have one of those bioelectrical impedence devices that Ive used enough to know how to get consistent results.

I plan on placing an order tonight for a few supplements and am going to pick a BF caliper along with it. So I'll do a BF test along with my weight gain weekly. I can add in camera phone pics too although the quality isn't great.

I'll test out the following lifts next week. Also listed some quick guesses but there not to accurate (Since I'm cutting weights are fluctuating)

Flat Bench Press (205-220 lbs 1RM)

Overhead Smythe Machine Shoulder Presses (150-160 8 reps)

Leg Presses

Bent Over Rows

Barbell Curls

CGBP or Skullkrushers

Should that be good. If so I'll fill em all in this upcoming monday. Also my fish oil intake is very consitent. I can't even remember the last time I missed a dose. I've got fish oil at my work, up at my house, and some at my parents house. :D

No problem at all for the bf% and pictures. Diet is strict, and consistent. Will olive oil and almonds be allowed too?

I think Bill and I will be picking sometime this week. I already have my preliminary lists set up.
Sweet.

The instructions should be pretty easy to follow. Can you guys get some baseline stats for your lifts? I don't care what lifts they are just as long as you do them. I think 4 or 5 lifts will be fine.
Shouldn't be a problem.

Also it would be nice if you guys had some way to evaluate body composition changes.
That shouldn't be a problem either.

Good luck to the selected testers!

No problem. I can give Accu-measure measurements, pics, and baseline lifts for 5 x 5's on squat, dl, and incline db press. Once again, thanks for your consideration.

I plan on placing an order tonight for a few supplements and am going to pick a BF caliper along with it.

Any suggestions for a good caliper to get. I'm just looking for something relatively cheap but fairly reliable and accurate.

I can also record my Bf% as well as my maxes. I already do this for my own personal journal which I keep. I have the Accu-Measure calipers and an Omron one.

Like everyone else getting measurements isn't an issue. It's good to see that they aren't any dietary restrictions for the reasons P01Shooter mentioned. It will be interesting to see if these changes, including fish oils and other foods and supps that can have anti-inflammotory effects can inhibit the effect of AA. It would also be interesting to se a few testers use Sesamin as it can aid in body recomp, namely fat loss. Also might be interesting to see if Cissus would have any adverse effects on AA supplementation.

Well if I get chosen, I'll probably be using a small dose of Sesamin(1-2 capsules) daily.

Sure that wouldnt be a problem. I have been following a strict workout routine and my strength/weight gains have been going up on a steady pace so I will know right a way if strength/weight gains increase at all. I also have a Accu-measure caliper to check bf anytime. I have a canon 3mp camera to take pictures if needed. Thanks a lot for the chance of possibly being a tester of a supplement that I have been waiting to try for a while now.

Yeah it definitely seems to improve strength. One way seems to be from improved control of intracellular K+.

It will be interesting to see how various levels of fish oil impact what I just mentioned.

Tracking weight, bodyfat and measurements wonít be a problem for me either. I also have some pretty consistent 3 rep maxes (I donít 1 rep max, 2 rep max at most) so thatíd be logged for sure. I havenít made leaps and bounds with my weight during my Green MAGnitude log, but I donít care because my strength has shot up and there are more changes than just weight. Nuts to gaining fat and subcutaneous water weight. Nevertheless, I plan on logging everything and then posting whatís important to those following the logs :p

Iím really, really excited to learn that there are no dietary restrictions. I plan on taking Black Out at night during my next stack, so hopefully I can take it with X-Factor if Iím chosen as a tester. I also have bulk CEE, Leucine and GABA that Iím itching to use too. *crosses fingers* :D

It totally won't be a problem to give you stats for my basic lifts. Currently, I am keeping a workout journal and recording all of them anyway. Tracking bodyfat levels shouldn't be a problem either as I have a set of Beta Technology Incorporated skinfold calipers( which I believe are industry standard) and I am proficient at taking a 3 point body fat test. Although, there is another trainer at work who is really good at doing a 9 point bodyfat test and I could probably get a before and after test from him for additional input( if that interests you).

All and all this sounds like you guys at molecular nutrition have a really interesting study in the works here with a large array of testers.

I got that previous x-factor experience:-D that your looking for! But on a side note, i would be more then willing to post up a overview of everyworkout, with weights and reps etc. I keep my own little workout journal while i lift so that wouldnt be a problem at all. Im going to school for athletic training, and a lot of my classes are gym type classes, and all the teachers can measure bodyfats, and are more than willing to do so whenever so that wouldnt be a problem at all.

Basically, i'd be willing to do whatever you guys want. Comparing to old x-factor cycles, full workout review with everything, bodyfat, everything.

Hey if its not too late I'd like to try and get in on this :)

Age: 18

Sex: Male

Height: 5'11

Weight: 170lbs

Body Type: Ecto

Training: 1 1/2years

I used to be a out of shape ecto until about 3 years ago. Then i began running every other day and I stopped eating soo much damn crappy food. I eventually hauled my self from 190lbs to 145lbs in a year and a bit. I was proud of losing so much fatty weight. Now im working on getting myself to some person fitness goals. I have made HUGE changes to my body of the last year but i'd like to try and take myself to the next level. I think X factor sound like something that could help me do that and i'd like the chance to try and prove it.

Training Schedule

day 1 - Chest, Triceps, Abs
day 2- Back, Biceps, forarms
day 3- legs. abs
day4- off
day 5- shoulders abs
days 6- biceps, triceps, forearms
days 7- off

Current Supplements:
Whey Protien isolate
Creatine Monohydrate/ Kre-akyline

Training phase: Bulking

Fish OIl Intake: none currently. If i need to start to do this testing i will

X factor use prior to now: NONE!

Im a hard beleiver of products, But i would love the chance to post my own record of what it does for me in 50days.

Thanks for the consideration

Stoked to see where this goes. PB's post got me really riled up. If I'm not chosen as a tester, I'll be purchasing X-Factor or JW and logging it anyways. I don't know why the hell more people aren't jumping all over this golden opportunity. Agreed. The only downside to X-Factor was the dietary restrictions and the results from these logs will influence a lot of peoples decisions. I'm stoked and hope I'm picked but either way, I'll be paying close attention to what happens.

mhm. The dietary restrictions were the number one thing that turned me off when I started researching arachidonic acid. Basically killed my interest right away. I'm eating some tuna right now... I wouldn't be able to follow the restrictions, so I just hope that things turn out good! Like I said, if the logs are looking positive then I'll be sure to pick up AA/X-Factor somewhere down the road.

Usually when you're testing a product, the company doesn't want you to change any part of your normal routine, i.e. supplements, diet, workout. That's how you can attribute any positive (or negative) effects to the new supplement that you're testing. So, go with whatever workout you're using now, or if you're planning on changing it, change it now so that you have some time to get acclimated to the new one.
